Appreciate this knowledge so much. So we can continue using the so-called obsolete modbus devices that are still in good working order. Thank you

Another very informative video Kudzai. I had no idea that you could run InfluxDB and Grafana on a Raspberry Pi. Really learned a lot from this video. Thanks!

Thank you for this outstanding demonstration. My question is : which is better from your point of view, using KepserverEx IoT gateway and publish the data directly to the broker or using this Schneider IIoT gateway, noting that we are using Schneider PLCs in our plants ??

Hi Amine, thank you. We are glad you like the content. The answer to your question -- It's difficult to say which one is better. The advantage of KepserverEx IoT is that it is a robust software product and that of the IIoT Gateway is that it is an open and extensible platform. So perhaps you could make a decision based on that. Hope this helps.

Fantastic tutorial, thanks. Quick question: why send that data from Node-Red > MQTT Broker > Telegraph > Influx if node-red have already a native integration/extension to send data directly to influxdb? What's the benefit here?
@HiveMQ Жыл бұрын
The benefit here is that, with MQTT, not only InfluxDB gets access to the sensor data. MQTT allows other third-party systems to plug into the network and subscribe to receive the data without the publisher even knowing or adjusting to accomodate many consumers.

I'm all for technology improvements, especially in my old field. Love how Hive can help with that. I like that the Raspberry pi can be used. However, as a new start-up in development and seeking ways to manage my company, I will NOT put my trust in all cloud based services and will NOT run my company via an IoT base. Closed-loop systems, non-cloud LT storage (only short-term usages), less cloud-based surveillance, etc is my preference. Don't have a ring and WON'T. If it's so easy to hack everything anymore, then why do they expect us to put our trust IoT, implants, or my home being too reliant on the soon micro-controlled grid? Nah

Which model of Schneider IoT Gateway you are using?

Hi Darius, thank you for your question. The IoT Gateway used in the video is Schneider Electric Magelis IIoT Core Box, Model: HMIBSCEA5X. Hope this helps!
