I don't think Matpat realized this. But this detail is proves the order of who died. So obviously we know the room was empty in FNAF 4, that was compelling but not really proof that Elizabeth died first. But, look at Nightmare and Nightmare Fredbear... the stomachs. Elizabeth died from Circus Baby's stomach hatch opening. If C.C. saw that, he could be afraid that it could happen to him too, so he adds that onto the scarier nightmare animatronics.
