The 80's metal bands were a dime a dozen when metal went mainstream. You had all sorts off mashups. Hell even Bad Company pulled in a new lead singer and had a few hits. But man oh man. Do I remember Mr. Big. When their debut album came out and I heard Addicted To That Rush, I was hooked. The whole album is fire. I love their version of 30 Days In The Hole. And the album Lean Into It is pure gold. Hell I proposed to my wife while listening to, To Be With You. It's our song. This band was a true Supergroup. Love them. And RIP to the one and only Pat Torpey.

Dude, I flew from Alaska to orange California for a guitar lesson with Paul Gilbert. Walked 5 miles hauling my guitar. Had a copy of Lean into it with me, had him sign for my girlfriend "hold on little girl". We've broken up since but she still has it. She has another copy, the first cd she ever owned given to her by her father. Coincidently enough when i started playing guitar my father showed me that album and told me he wanted me to play those songs for his birthday. My father also revealed why, we used to sing "to be with you" at the kitchen table when i was a toddler. I have a vague memory of it, but it all came flooding back. These guys are a huge part of my life. And yes, RIP Pat Torpey

@@nicksm7980 You can say he "doesn't play conceptually hard things here" all you want, but you're virtually alone in that assessment. I don't get why every time a video of one of the great virtuoso rock musicians is posted someone has to badmouth or downplay their abilities. Either that or you get the "X bassist from my favorite 70s band didn't need all that flashy nonsense" comments. I'm sorry, but if you don't find Billy Sheehan's bass playing impressive I have to wonder what exactly you are impressed by in this world.

@@2Plus2isChicken2013, Sheehan is one of my favorite musicians and I find his playing impressive. I just don't understand why nutty fanboys can't read damn words exactly as they're written. His soloing here is great, fun and enjoyable but one doesn't need a lot of music theory to come up with this stuff. It's rock'n'roll, it should be fun, thinking is widely considered to not be fun. Had Billy improvised over 'Giant Steps' that night, thousands of SF yongsters woudn't have been so happy. Do you catch my drift or am I badmouthing him again and you are triggered every time somebody doesn't comment like 'Billy's the best bassist EVAH'? Oh, my God, that was amazing! I was actually at the first Mr. Big show ever at the Omni in Oakland. When Paul Gilbert came out in a custom-made suit with F-holes all over it and started playing, my mind was blown. They were giants, still are…

Rock is still the sound of freedom and rebellious attitude and it does not matter what generation. I am 27 and it was my music when I was 17 and I have a guy in the neighbourhood who blasts Hair Metal, 80's British Hevy Metal and The Who and Rolling Stones songs and that makes me hapoy

I had the first Talas album back in the 80s. Billy Sheehan was a new bass player that just blew doors open.

I was with my friend Lonnie who at the time was the bassist of King Kobra, later the Bullet Boys... We were at Chuck Landis' Country Club in Reseda for a King Kobra gig with Racer X ...... Im a bassist too and while hanging out upstairs in the 21 and over section, Billy Sheehan came walking up to me and we started a conversation,,, maybe he was wondering why I had two beautiful women with me? Billy and I had a rather long conversation about FISHING!..... didn't say a thing about music, think he knew I was a bassist too....but,,, perhaps he was happy to talk about something other than music??? Billy is a personable, friendly and sincere person who is genuine, even with the notoriety he has following him around.... This video shows how laid back they were and, the enjoyment the members of Mr Big had performing with each other...what a kick ass band..... Loved it!

This is what an absolute master of his craft looks like. That bass still hasn’t forgiven him for the sheer owning he just gave it. Nuts, absolutely nuts.
