I remember when this song and album came out in 1991. I was 23 years old at the time and I could sing it right along with Eric Martin and hit the falsetto notes to boot. Now at 54, and some 31 years later, I'm lucky to hit any of Eric's masterful notes, but that doesn't stop me from trying and enjoying myself in the process. Such a great song, album and memory. Ain't music grand folks!!!
@anthonywarn66022 жыл бұрын
I hear you Christopher. I could also sing along to this track 30 years ago, the voice deepens over time and the falsetto is harder to reach. As you say, doesn't stop us from still singing along and enjoying it. I wonder if Eric can still sing like that. Enlighten me mate. Music is the window to the soul. Rock on brother.
@christopherrichardson53522 жыл бұрын
@@anthonywarn6602 Thank you so much Anthony. I truly appreciate your kind words my friend. Music is the ultimate equalizer for the human spirit and condition. Young or old, rich or poor, we can all be at the same "level" in the enjoyment and wonder of music. My music collection is like a catalogue of memories and steps throughout my life. I don't even dare to think what it would be like to not have it. That would be so very tragic. I say we keep on singing Anthony even if we make fools of ourselves in the process. As far as Eric hitting those so sweet notes from 1991 it may not be as easy now at 61 years old. Still I doubt that will slow him down anymore than our older and lower voices should us. Keep on rocking mate and know that the love of music is the love of humanity itself no matter what age we are. God Bless you!!!

Every band had their acoustic number, but this one was still upbeat, not schmaltzy lovers lament stuff. Guitar driven, great vocals and harmonies, multiple key changes, and one of the best guitar solos ever! I'm a drummer and i applaud the restraint it took NOT to use drums. Drums were minimally used near the end for a little impact but that's it. This song was a gift that continues to endure decades later. Thanks for posting!

This is one of the greatest male vocal recordings ever made, from a performance and sound engineering standpoint. The performance is a perfect rock vocal, a perfect 10. The sound of it is also perfectly mixed, up front and in your face but not assaulting. Perfectly placed levels and compression, not a single note is over or underwhelming. Tone is silky with grit. Every aspiring studio engineer should reference this ava study the mix. Perfectly executed. I know this as a professional in the field.

Hold on, little girl Show me what he's done to you Stand up little girl Broken heart can't be that bad When it's through, it's through Fate will twist the both of you So come on baby, come on over Let me be the one to show you I'm the one who wants to be with you Deep inside I hope you feel it too (feel it too) Waited on a line of greens and blues (waited on a line) Just to be the next to be with you Build up your confidence So you can be on top for once Wake up who cares about Little boys that talk too much I've seen it all go down The game of love was all rained out So come on baby, come on over Let me be the one to hold you I'm the one who wants to be with you (I'm the one, yeah) Deep inside I hope you feel it too (feel it too) Waited on a line of greens and blues (waited on a line, yeah) Just to be the next to be with you Why be alone when we can be together, baby? You can make my life worthwhile I can make you start to smile When it's through, it's through Fate will twist the both of you So come on baby, come on over Let me be the one to show you I'm the one who wants to be with you (I'm the one) Deep inside I hope you feel it too (feel it too) Waited on a line of greens and blues (waited on a line) Yeah, just to be the next to be with you I'm the one who wants to be with you (I'm the one) Deep inside I hope (deep inside) you feel it too (you feel it too) Waited on a line of greens and blues (waited on that line) Yeah, just to be the next to be with you Just to be the next to be with you, ooh
