After years in the wilderness, 90s TV star Mr Blobby is making his triumphant return to the stage in Peter Pan at the Chrysalis Theatre in Milton Keynes. But how is he finding life back in the spotlight?
For those looking forward to seeing Mr Blobby in pantomime, they are going to have to wait just a few more weeks. The production - like many others over the Christmas period - has been temporarily postponed in light of the Covid resurgence. But only for a few weeks.

For those who don’t know: Mr. Blobby was a popular character in Noel’s house party In the late 1990s and early 2000s he was not intended to be known as scary and creepy to children as his moods are shown by his voice pitch but as some kids thought of Mr.Blobby as scary because of his animatronic like voice as it was dark and scary Mr. Blobby was just known in the UK for the amazing acting and how kids loved it based on the looks and some even thought it was educational as though some kids cried from the scary ness of his voices it wasn’t really intended and was just his voice to make it sound realistic as a parent even jumped on the stage when they where preforming once because his daughter was crying, as in the early 1990s there was even a theme park for Mr.blobby as he was first sited into the “Gotcha” segment of Noel’s house party and his theme park was closed in 1998 as people in the early 2000s even started to break into the now empty Bobbyland as they tried to put up cameras to stop this but eventually the site was demolished in 1998 having it now destroyed and all broken down with nothing inside

I actually enjoyed Mr Blobby as a kid, and I was pretty young, I'd say at least 3 years old. Memories of him would come and go and I would wonder if the tapes my mum owned were real.

He was absolutely intended to be scary and creepy. He was a parody of costumed characters in children's television. It was an accident that kids took him as a straight example of a lovable children's TV character, and they just rolled with it for the $$$. Blobby soon became what he was intended to mock, and only after the public got sick of him did he start returning to his non-kid-oriented, parodic roots.

To be honest, I loved Mr Blobby during my childhood, and I don't care what anyone else thinks. To me, he was the pure embodiment of the 1990s, a reminder of what a fun decade it was. Not to mention it was a far simpler time, compere to today's world of fake news and fearmongering propaganda. If time machines are ever invented in my lifetime, I would not hesitate to go back to those good old days again. At the end of the day, a character like Mr Blobby wasn't everyone's cup of tea.

Back in the 90s I had a recurring summer job with a guy called Phil that owned lots of bouncy castle type items, as well as a means to play music over the fields, or wherever that particular day was. The children of course loved a day out rushing around bouncing, sliding or taking a turn on a Go-Kart... To help with concluding the day on a happy-go-lucky note, one of us would have to wear the "Mr. Blobby" costume, dance a lap of the field being chased by incredibly excited kids, then end up back in wherever the main building was to change out of the costume to finish the day. Mum's and carers enjoyed the days of bringing their kids to a slightly easier day of care, they obviously had to stay with their youngsters, but it wasn't an intensive day for them. It was fun for all really, well I enjoyed setting up, taking down as well as getting paid for what amounts to hanging out in the sunshine 🌞 what teenager doesn't like that? 🤷🏻‍♂️
