More joyful than the original, brightly infused with Sonny's inimitable sunniness. Sonny's return to KZbin sure is terrific, isn't it?

glad to find you are still well and doing KZbin! I remember stumbling across your video of 76 Trombones (the Ambassadors of Harmony version was shared with me by my grandfather, that helped start an appreciation of Barbershop). And now you have put out a video with one of my dad's favorite ELO songs (and mine). I didn't subscribe all those years ago, but I have fixed that now!

If ever a prog rock song was predestined for the babershop treatment, this was it (with hindsight). Brilliant arrangement and execution! But what about the end of the song???
@sgtsonny4 жыл бұрын
I actually added the end of the original under the talking head at the end, but KZbin flagged it. So I had to change the underscore. A shame, because it would have been an awesome addition :).
@MikePageKaltenberg4 жыл бұрын
@@sgtsonny does that mean that the arrangement has the full ending?
@sgtsonny4 жыл бұрын
No, I put an instrumental at the end. The arrangement does really end where I ended the 'singing part' of the video.

Hahaha I'm glad you enjoyed it. Are you saying you had never heard E.L.O.'s 'Mr. Blue Sky' before this? No problem of course, but it's funny that some people are unintentionally able to avoid a massive hit song for decades :). There are people walking around that have never heard songs like 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Hey Jude' and 'Your Song'. That's crazy, right? Of course I'm biased, since music is my whole identity :D.
@sonyahannah4 жыл бұрын
@@sgtsonny In reality, had somehow missed it -- possibly because I get most of my music now through KZbin! My car, at present, lacks a functional radio/player, and that used to be my major listening source: driving and singing along, or just soaking up. Brilliant. I'm interested in this arrangement. Sorry for my ignorance but what is the difference between the 3 versions on your website please? TTBB, SATB, SSAA?
@sgtsonny Жыл бұрын
No problem, man. TTBB stands for 'Tenor, tenor, baritone, bass'. That version is for an all male quartet/chorus. SATB stands for 'Soprano, alto, tenor, bass'. That version is for a mixed quartet/chorus. SSAA stands for 'Soprano, soprano, alto, alto' and that's for an all female quartet/chorus. If you have any further questions, please send an email to sgtsonnytracks@gmail.com. I rarely check these comments, but I'm always happy to help whenever I can. Take care!

Another masterpiece! How do you decide what songs you're going to cover?
@sgtsonny4 жыл бұрын
It's a mix of going for a song which I think the majority will like and which quartets and choruses would like to add to their repertoire (I used to go for songs that are popular in the barbershop scene, but now I go more for a broader audience and taste) and finding a good arrangement. I think you're the first person to ask :).
