It is obvious in the voice of the person who is filming that he loves this bird a lot, and it makes my heart so warm 🥺❤️

Even as an Australian who visits the Bush and reserves frequently I've only seen this species a couple of times in my life. Absolutely stunning bird.

These cockatoos are on the endangered species list and youre clowning one for youtube clips (slow clap)
@SleepyConure8 ай бұрын
This cockatoo was bred in captivity. It was not taken from nature, nor can you just let it free. It most likely won't survive in the wild. Also, those birds are not on the endangered species list because a handful of people have them as pets. Pet cockatoos have been bred in captivity for generations and have nothing to do with the wild cockatoo populations.

Wild birds are not toys or pets. Why is this bird not out in the wild? It does not ‘belong’ to you. Is this even legal to keep captive a native species? I doubt it.

Tim X, Mr Chester was adopted quite a few years ago and obviously the owners have a native wildlife licence to keep him. Don't jump down the owners throats. They do have a room for him with a load of different enrichment for the bird.

@Benny Newlands Was this bird adopted from the wild, or abducted from the wild? Or did its ‘owner’ win it in a television game show? I’m pretty sure he didn’t magically find it in the bottom of a Corn Flakes packet. Glad to hear it has its own room, where presumably it can invite its parrot mates over for a party and a bit of a sing-song, eh? Kudos I suppose to its jailer for actually having a ‘wildlife license’ (a third-party abduction treaty?) but the fact remains this animal does not belong indoors, or to the owner. I for one am sick to my wisdoms of people using wild creatures (Australia’s National treasure) as a pathetic social prop! It’s too depressingly easy to find heaps of similar KZbin videos wherein some people actually boast about how rare ‘their’ parrot species is, and how “you don’t see these in the wild any more”. What is certain with a capital C is that this CAPTIVE ANIMAL (and lets stop the pretence, that’s exactly what it is!) will never again get the chance to breed, to increase the numbers of the National flock. Nor even the opportunity to behave and socialise naturally with its kind. And that, Benny Newlands, is neither moral, or just.
