The personal history of the historian, translator, and pioneer brought to light the astonishing discovery of life in Persian Egypt and the Jewish Garrison at Elephantine Island from 6, 5, and 4th centuries BCE. The colony included a functioning Jewish Temple. Dr. Margaretha Folmer, a Leiden University Lecture in Aramaic-Hebrew, being familiar with the material after publishing “Elephantine Revisited,” knows what to ask and does a pointed and inciteful interview and conversation.
