This is the first cartoon being directed by Bob McKimson, Although it's not a Looney Tune or a Merrie Melodie until Daffy Doodles, released in 1946.

When I first saw this cartoon series, it was a real disappointment considering I was hoping to see what a Navy version of Private Snafu would focus on concerning naval duty like shipboard safety or operations efficiency, Instead, they are all war bond commercials, with none of the variety of Snafu.
