I prefer the pixel graphics of their first game, but I can appreciate that they gave VA to the first game and they stuck with the artstyle, which I do like as Ruby looks so cute. It's just that in terms of horror, the pixel graphics of 1 and 2 are way better.

In the original, you would also find a gun in the safe instead of the slingshot.

I like the new art style of this game! Don't get me wrong, the pixelated style of the first game is still good, but this 2D, cartoony style looks much more polished and Ruby is much cuter and more expressive than in the original. The cutscenes also look similar to Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 3, so it's not like we haven't seen this style before. I was very satisfied with this remake and I hope we get to see the other two games remade in high definition.

Yo, they bring the blood back in parent's room. Other than that it's a meh remake. Just bias with the original design. Edit: and oh god that jumpscare is a downgrade. (The hand one is an upgrade tho) It's actually neet to see the spider version more often here.

maybe I skipped that part by accident, but in Ruby's room there is a secret that seems to happen at a specific time, if you go in at some point while looking for the tapes you can see Miss Bo and Mr. Stripes in the window

I remember when I was a kid I used to watch videos of this game they always scared the hell out of me because well I was a kid but now as a teen it don’t scare me as much and the HD does have the downgrade on the scare factor but I don’t mind the art style looks amazing
