Jay, in case you're wondering. This game is a prequel to the first one. Esther is Ruby (Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 1's protagonist)'s grandmother. Esther is suffering from Mr. Hopp's curse when she was a child, just like Ruby did. But Esther's got it REAL bad.

Actually, Esther is the grandmother of the child from the first game, this game is actually a prequel. And if you find all the medallions you get the true ending and I little more lore, this was the bad ending. Esther passed Mr. Hopps to her granddaughter, Ruby. I think the Entity/Mr. Hopps erased Esther memory, so that may be why she doesn't know about the curse and about what happenned on the orphanage.

@@VolvaBecky the good ending is when you collect all the medallions and you go to hell and play little mini games and use the medallions to "defeat" the entity and save all the children (including Molly and isaac) and the 5 matrons . Esther grows up with her best friends and then keeps the medallions she collected put together into a necklace that she keeps on display next to a picture of her,molly,and Isaac. Since she is old and weak now the entity consumes her (killing her) and gives ruby (Esthers granddaughter) Mr hopp which line up events from the first game.
