I never understood why they didn't just get Alex to find the bags, dig them up, and then unload them while they kept a gun on him from a safe distance. If the bags were booby trapped, Alex would've been killed and they'd be ok. If Alex had a gun in the bag, they could've shot him before he went for it. Also, I love how Dave ends up suggesting Alex's original plan back to him (without even realising it). Even criminals have bureaucratic nightmares!

What’s funny is Ray pulled this trick on the guy he’s working with before they started working together. Ray had a frag wired to go off when the safe was opened that injured everyone that kidnapped him. Ray was unharmed as he was digging his own grave. Ray’s (now) partner was the only one to survive after Ray casually shot everyone else in the head and even offered him a cigarette.
