For context, for anyone who wasn't watching live and reading the comments. Saab was intending to perma Slacks. Saab decided to leave it up to the dice rolls to give the medical staff the RP they deserve as well. He did a number of rolls to perma and needed a 20 and did actually roll a 20 but because he rolled in twitch chat instead of game, the roll was lost to the endless wave of chatters rolling as well. Ultimately he has decided to ICU and coma slacks for a long time, he has lost the use of his legs and will require a wheelchair and Saab is pivoting to full criminal for the foreseeable future

So playing devils advocate on this "NVL", but his intention was to perma Slacks, and if it was gonna happen it makes more of an RP scenario, therefore a watchable ending to his character. As well as creating a bit more RP even after his death for PD and Slick Rick, among others. But now we know he didn't perma, but it's still a great scene to see.
