Why is he always out of time with the music?

Probably because he likes to change some bits in this song from what I've noticed. Sometimes he sings some words longer, sometimes he kinda "plays" with some lines to give them a different sound. It seems he doesn't want to sing it as original but rather likes to have fun with it.
