Good on you. I'm 10 years older than Masami and I can tell you that many people I know have always believed the Japanese are as good if not better than anyone else in the world. I was taught to respect all people no matter where they come from. I recommend everyone lookup Ted Longshaw - a great ambassador for the sport. Maybe if a non-racist had been the race director and avoided making such a bigoted judgement on that fateful day in history, maybe Masami would never have been number one for so long? Barry Sheen was once told by his school careers adviser that he would never make any money from motorcycle racing! Perhaps if someone had told me I would never achieve anything in life maybe I would have achieved more? Strange how idiots can be such a motivating force! :0) One good thing today, most of us can now use VRCPro.com to enjoy racing with people from all over the world - I would love to see Masami on VRCPro, this would help promote the sport. I would like to think that Pieter Bervoets would not hesitate to give Masami a lifetime pass.
