Hi there, I'm Raphaël Gesqua, the original composer of "Mr.Nutz" soundtrack. Just to clarify some questions, here : I definitely was the original composer of the original version of "Mr.Nutz", which was the "Super Nintendo" version, released in 1993, and then also of the Megadrive and Gameboy versions. The only difference is that "Megadrive" and "Gameboy" / "Gameboy Color" versions, released in 1994, although they were also my music compositions, were converted by Matt Furniss from the SNES version. But still remains my compositions. The "Mr.Nutz" Amiga game that followed, later, was not a "Mr.Nutz" game, but Ocean Software decided, after the success on SNES and Megadrive, to replace the main character of an Amiga game they were producing, back then, by "Mr.Nutz" itself and rename the game, in order to benefit from the "Mr.Nutz" game success on SNES, Megadrive and Gameboy. Hope this helps for those who might want to know more about the question ;-) Thanks a lot for all comments about my work, everyone ;-) Best regards www.raphaelgesqua.free.fr Raphaël Gesqua

Mr Nutz on the Genesis as well is one of my favorite videogame osts of all time!!!!! xD My huge dream Ive had almost all my life was too make a side scroller with such colorfulness as the ones Ive grew up playing and the OSTs of games from my childhood seems are even better then other music from "real" artists at many times.... I feel like Music and Video Games are the greatest things ive experienced in my life and im glad to be able to listen to your works here on youtube. Ive been listening to this OST almost every single day I cant get enough of it

There's something rather melancholy hidden underneath this composition. Like how you're remembering something really pleasant about your past only to realize that those times have long past and you can never go back. All you have are those wonderful memories.

Seriously, Mr Nutz looks diffferent here on the box, different on the title screen, and different ingame lol. Gotta remember, two tails swipes for the spiked guys, and three jumps for the caterpillers....

kdreamland Sorry to be a nerd, but this is with many older games. They make the main character look better to make it look more presentable.

They made him look more "cool" on the box art cover to attract younger gamers back then. I think the title screen and in-game Mr Nutz are similar enough.

I definitely prefer the Genesis version! Not only is it one of the rare Genesis tracks to make use of plain (unmodulated, non-FM) sine waves, but this one seems kinda phoned in by comparison in general. I don't know if Matt Furniss was involved with the SNES port of this game, or just the Genesis one, but I know he was a much bigger fan of Genesis hardware than SNES hardware. This one's definitely not bad (esp the low strings in the chorus), but there's no contest in my mind which one's better.
@arnoldrivers96666 жыл бұрын
John Wedgeworth The Megadrive/genesis version sounds like shit compared to the SNES version. It's like a master system song compared to a Megadrive song. No comparison really. Unless you prefer that crappier sound.
@troywright3594 жыл бұрын
that's fine, you can like whatever version you want. this is the original composers masterpiece though.
