I didn't know this song, Chris. I went to look for the lyrics while I listened to your performance. I don't really want to listen to the original version because your piano arrangement is just perfect. While reading the lyrics, I got a little emotional. I think most of us have probably met a "perfect" person who broke our heart at the end. Love is a funny business and a journey which ends well for just a few lucky ones. Wow!!!! That's absolutely fantastic!!!! In the original She sings it like she experienced the situation. In your song, as you wrote, you go one step farther. You describe His point of view... So in your beautiful version i can hear no bitterness, no hate and no malicious joy....only a lot of deep sadness and disappointment about himself ...and because of that there's no aggressive bitterness in it...only " beautiful " and clear sadness about someone who maybe realized that he has " thrown away" the love of his life and that it's too late now... Your version impressed me much and is sure one of your masterpieces. 👏👏👏🎼🌈
