Martin Wallstrom is swedish and Stephanie Corneliussen is danish, they use this in the show - they speak swedish and danish (since they're mutually intelligible) at home and sometimes to hide things from other people that are in their presence. It's nice that you're noticing the cinematography and the implication of missing elements in his perception.
