That's why the joke is so good. Its absurd to blow up the ocean but as in a tabletop RPG, you can do whatever you want, there's always an absurd level of consistency to keep the adventure going even if things got out of hand. So the joke is both about blowing up the ocean and how weird consistency works in tabletop RPGs.
