The conversation between the two arch-enemies is notable for the reason that in spite of their being enemies, Ram prompts to learn from Ravan. But layman's mind is clouded by ego,anger, short-temperedness , so he could not grasp the significance of that momentous event of the death of a great learned person,who was about to depart in a short time from the world. On the contrary, Ram rose above all the petty things and in a noble manner befitting an Arya,still insisted Laxman and preferred to go to Ravan without malice, rancor,hatred or anger and despite being victorious, bowed before Ravan and requested with folded hands to impart the knowledge. Ram did not hesitate to learn from his enemy . The event has still significance in our times. It is a lesson for us about how we should behave towards our enemies. It is a relevant lesson particular for our politicians and rulers to learn from the episode. There is no point in talking and watching Ramayana if we don't understand tge significance and internalize those values in our day to day interaction.

शुभस्य शीघ्रम : रावण ने लक्ष्मण को शिक्षा दी कि शुभ कार्य करने में कभी देरी नहीं करनी चाहिए. जैसे ही किसी शुभ कार्य का चिंतन हो या मन में विचार आए उसे तुरंत कर ड़ालना चाहिए. इसके अलावा अशुभ को जितना टाल सकते हो उसे टाल दो. शत्रु छोटा नहीं: लक्ष्मण को रावण ने जो दूसरी सीख दी वह यह थी कि कभी भी अपने प्रतिद्वंद्वी या शत्रु को खुद से छोटा या कमतर नहीं समझना चाहिए. रावण ने स्वीकारा कि यह उसकी सबसे बड़ी भूल थी. रावण ने वानर और भालू सेना को कमतर आंका और अपना सब कुछ नष्ट कर बैठा. रहस्य न बताओ : महाज्ञानी रावण ने लक्ष्मण को तीसरा ज्ञान यह दिया कि अपने रहस्य कभी किसी को नहीं बताने चाहिए. रावण ने लक्ष्मण से कहा कि मेरे मृत्यु से जुड़ा रहस्य यदि में किसी को नहीं बताता तो आज मेरी मृत्यु नहीं होती. लेकिन मैने यह रहस्य अपने भाई को भरोसा कर बताया जिसके कारण आज में मृत्यु शैया पर पड़ा हूं.
