I bought my house 1RoomKitchen in Navi Mumbai at my 28th age. I fell in love with this gentleman from my office, who was from different state & was living as a bachelor. Later he got shifted to my place...we got married within 6 months....and spent our beautiful days together in that cozy small house. There was no other option than being together., sitting beside each other every time, lying nearby, watching TV together bcoz the room was small. Talking & talking, so much of togetherness.... Later after 3 years we got shifted to 3bhk apartment. Now i give lots of privacy to my husband, may be bcoz of my huge house. But he realised & remembers how important our small house was, how small things were so important....it was a sheer love & affection.

One lesson which I have learnt after watching this video if you are down to earth person and your bucket list is limited then you are the most happiest person in the world.

Yep, poverty exists in most countries, including the U.S. I am one of 10 children and we (12 people) lived in one bedroom house, in the U.S. I can’t say I miss that house that I grew up in.

Just to clarify a few things please; I made the video because on the few occasions that I've met my Aunty & her family; it has always made a deep impression on me as well as humbled me, so for that reason I wanted to share the video. At the point of writing this, my Aunty is 77 years old. Everything for everyday living is contained within this one room, but the toilets are away from the room and are shared facilities with other residents in the flat. Also a very special Big Thank you to each and everyone of you for watching the video and sharing your thoughts on how the video has touched a nerve with you or moved you to comment your feelings, I do read every single comment made and I truly find them very thought provoking even the seemingly negative comments. To the few people who are making negative and presumptious comments towards me, my Mother and my Family, i can say that your comments in fact say a lot about you without you even realising it. My own father sadly passed away 9 days before my 4th birthday; which meant that my Mother had to work at three jobs because she didn't want to lose our family home, one of the work my mother did was as a seamstress on a sewing machine, and the work gave her neck and back problems which affect her to this day (there is more but I won't go on), all I know is that "Who God Bless, No Man Can Curse". Other people have commented on my accent; to clarify I don't have a fake Gujarati or English accent, I was born in London and the majority of the Gujarati that I speak was learnt mostly from my Grandparents whilst at home, I find it a real privilege to be able speak (my mother tongue) Gujarati especially when I've spoken it in the UK or anytime in Gujarat or India (speaking Gujarati is a real honour for me especially when i notice that the mother tongue tends to get lost or forgotten with the 2nd born Asian generation outside of india). I feel that my Aunty has had a hard life in that she lost her husband at an young age and then her son passed away several years ago. (The son was the breadwinner in the family). My Aunty and her daughter-in-law now carry out some low paid sewing machine work from the flat. To the people commenting about high property values in Mumbai, bear in mind that it's not always all about the value of property especially if you're not thinking of selling or moving somewhere else, what matters more is the sense of community where you live; such as having good neighbours and of course knowing who your neighbours are + the quality of your life. Even though the video views are now well over 7 million views; the earnings are not as spectacular or astronomical (as some people seem to perhaps be thinking & commenting). The earnings from the video are certainly not even close enough to allow me to buy my Aunty a new house or flat, be it in Mumbai, elsewhere in India or London (even though I dearly wish it was so). In the past my Mother and I have on some occasional instances given small cash gifts to my Aunty (stretching to the extent of what we could afford and in the manner that a sister and nephew would) the amounts given were not a lot and it's not a big deal because it's what family do.......don't they? Yes the video has gained a lot of views, so I am without a shadow of doubt obliged to give a bit more of a cash gift to my Aunty and Bhabhi when I next visit India if not sooner. Some people have formed an opinion that because my family & I live in London that life must be a bed of roses and very easy. If you look closely at my blogs you'll notice that most of the food places I visit are affordable places for the ordinary man on the street; simply because I myself am an ordinary man on the street not really wanting or being able to afford to eat at high end expensive places. Believe me when I say my family's life is not as luxurious as some people seem to be thinking (or be commenting). The cost of living is eye-wateringly high in London; utilities bills are never ending and high........in case you're wondering; I even pay tax on my KZbin income. I have set up a fundraiser for my Aunty, here is the link if you would like to donate any amount that you wish: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mumbai-aunty-fundraiser?PmBjrmXgr I would like to be able to give her the money raised and be able to simply say to her: "Please do what you wish with it to make your life a bit easier". All of the money raised from the fundraiser will go to her & Bhabhi, (I give my absolute guarantee and word of honour on this). May God Bless my Aunty (Masi), Bhabhi and her family.

Bro u know in proper bombay 1500 sqft is long gone a decent one is like 10000 sqft or may be more not less

You can modify the interior to make better built in storage options and a more minimal clean design, but don’t expand the area. It’s more time and money in maintenance and cleaning.

Believe it or not, there are low, middle and high income peope who have purchased tiny homes. It's not about who is rich and who is poor. It's all about how you choose to live your life and not the way society deems the way you need to live life. She is happy and content and has been for the past 55 years.. Grandma was way ahead of us all. Bless her.

It's amazing how the older aunty managed to stay happy for past 55 years in such a small space & yet she's all excited to show the working of the house. This I guess is that ultimate salvation which people search for entire life

Thank you, Your Masi and her daughter in law for so graciously inviting us into her home! I'm really hoping that through the go fund me page you can raise some funds to bless them! I enjoyed the tour of her tiny, tiny house and to see her smiling face! May God truly bless her for being so happy with so little! Having a roof over one's head is a blessing in itself while many in this world have no home. In the USA we have so much to be greatful for yet many people aren't happy with all they have. A lot of people need to see this video!
