What is the best way to remove the OEM relay? really difficult to pull out.

Am having the same problem, they wont come out when pulling on them.
@WykerWyker6 жыл бұрын
TIMOTHY BARROW I can only assume you did the typical “wiggle and pull” attempt. Mine came out with ease, but I’d try some gloves to help with grip and then maybe long nose pliers from there. Let me know what it takes.
@romangarcia80535 жыл бұрын
(For any future viewers) is difficult to pull out bc it's a two piece part. If you look closely while you're down there you can see it connected to 2 small little clips. Pull from those clips out. Those clips are connected to a mount to help keep the relay from falling out. You need to pull out both pieces. Or just undo those small clips with a flat head and it will come out easy.

Did mine today. OEM came off with some careful effort. New LED relay flasher went on with ease after hunting down the connection.

I have burned out more than 3 of the cf14 relays. I think I will try the inline resistors next.

Any change in where you sourced your relays or did you switch to resistors?

I know this video is old but good info. My JDM left clear corner works fine. The right one wires the same way blows a fuse and my taillight fuse. Any ideas?

So the actual switchback led bulbs work on a similar principle to a dual filament bulb? Do you not have to amend the wiring. As the slot you have yours in is normally the indicator and will just have a ground wire and indicator live wire to it. Have you had to splice into the sidelight bit of it (the smaller bulb on the same assembly) for it to work? The only way I see it working in my head would be to have a dual filament holder with the bulb in and wire the indicator live and driving light live into it. Hope that makes sense and you can clear that one up for me 👍

How did you do switchbacks when they are single filament setups? I'd love to have switchbacks in mine but don't know what to do.

I need help idk what switch back to buy - do i need to do wiring
@ianmcloughlin84163 жыл бұрын
Have a question. The orgional indicator is a single filament bulb connector so surely the switchback won't work as it has to have a double filmenent bulb connector. Any info on this would be much appreciated cheers.

Where did u get the canbus led from? I tried a set aliexpress and it still hyper flash.

how did you get that OEM turn signal out I found the two clips on the side but one of them is nearly impossible to get without dropping the dashboard and also I can’t see the other side of the clip but I know it’s there

where you get the led bulbs and what type?
@MrPorygon994 жыл бұрын
So am I right in saying you buy the switchback led bulbs and they just go into the oem bulb holder. Then all you have to do is swap the relay out? Or am I missing something? Thanks!

Did u have to do any wiring to make sure the led switches to day lights
@WykerWyker3 жыл бұрын
Use the OEM bulb size. No wiring was required. The turn signal bulb is used as a marker light when not in use as a turn signal.

EBay links for the relay and bulbs? Sometimes this stuff is hit or miss. Also, does the it matter if you're running LED's up front but still have halogen in the rear?
@WykerWyker4 жыл бұрын
James Hartline I tried to find the specific link, but couldn’t. I usually source my bulbs from SuperBrightLeds.com though. And yes. You can leave existing bulbs in rear without issue. That’s what I did.

will you do a video where you show all the parts you used for the LED conversion? I'll probably buy a '91 and I'l need to freshen up all the lights
@WykerWyker6 жыл бұрын
polpotube Did you buy an Mr2? The parts were just clear corners (mine are OEM JDM corners), an LED bulb (I chose a switchback rather than solid amber), and the relay.
@WykerWyker4 жыл бұрын
tyrone thomas I just noticed your question. No, I didn’t wire in the other bulb on mine. That’s optional when swapping these corner lights. Some wire in the harness with both bulbs.
@moisesrubio35173 жыл бұрын
can it stay with the hyper flash or will that mess it up ? generally curious
@WykerWyker3 жыл бұрын
It can stay. With an LED bulb, the vehicle sees little to no resistance as if the bulb is blown, and indicates this with the fast flashing. The hyperflash itself is not harmful.
