Well Paul Giamatti was NOT the Program Director for WNBC in the first place he's the actor Private Parts NOT NBC. He acted Pissed off at Stern because your job as a Program Director was to monitor Stern making sure that he wasn't doing something he's NOT supposed to do Over the Airwaves. If he did, FCC would be ALL over Ass in a Heartbeat. They will have your head served on Silver Platter... Maybe impaled on a Pike depending on Circumstances.

Love him or hate him, you have to respect and admire the career behind Howard. The guy has had a radio career that has lasted for 28 years, and made every station he has worked for number one in the market. He has also written two books, both of which were New York Times Bestsellers, and one of which was made into a movie. Besides a Radio career he has also had a successful movie and television career. His movie actually made several celebrities either famous or brought even more fame. Mary McCormick and Paul Giamatti are two examples. Hell, Allison Janney was shortly there after brought in for her role a C.J. Cregg in the hit show West Wing, which went on for about six seasons. Then when Howard moved to Sirius, which was on its last leg and about to be crushed by XM, he came in and turned the tides of fortune towards Sirius. Forced a merger between the two companions to the point there is only one Satellite Radio company, Sirius XM. We have seen the power of the Stern Show. You do not have to like the man, but you haave got to give credit where credit is due.

I was just graduating college during this time. In the summer of 1985 a new station came on the air called K-Rock. Shockingly he signed to this classic rock format for the 2-6pm shift. He was great and this, in my opinion, is his prime. When he went on K-Rock, he would bring his young child on the air and say "now who fired daddy, remember him, he held you in his hands, yea thats who fired daddy...". K-Rock was very cutting edge to allow a talk radio who is really meant for AM radio formats to be a classic rock station. Stern would go on to bash NBC and regularly bash the executives there. Later he would do the morning drive time. Thats when I stopped listening to him, I just cant handle him in the AM hours. Then he became syndicated.

Howard Stern returned bigger and better. I am watching this April 20, 2022. I was never a fan, but I have listened every now and then just to know what the hype was about. He appeals to a certain demographic audience, so I can see it. I hated Rush Limbaugh...can't stand him, but Howard is certainly more likeable and relevant.

It’s easy to make a moron laugh, which is why his material is the epitome of banality. It’s easy to keep a herd of low-IQ, low expectation having sheep entertained for five hours five days a week. Let’s see him do that with people who have two brain cells to rub together that aren’t easily amused by fart jokes, porn stars in the studio, and prejudice baiting.
