The only reason why backbone got popular was because of how locked down iOS was. It was essentially the only option. And it had the software polish you'd expect from a iPhone associated product. Apple users are allergic to choice so it was the perfect storm

The BSP-D9 looks awesome. This video came out at the perfect time for me. I've been trying to find a quality handheld experience with the Switch. Mobapad m6 HD's cramp my hands. NYXI Hyperion Pro's fit nicely and I love the stick caps but the controller randomly disconnects too often. Every telescopic controller i saw before this video has the right joystick positioned in a way that's just as silly and unergonomic as the original joycons. The BSP-D8 right stick looks more to the left than center and the D9 looks like the dream for ergonomics and heavy use of the right stick. Thank you so much.

Hey man, the truth is I almost never comment on videos, mostly because it’s not easy for me to write in English (it’s my second language and it’s very different from my first) and also because I usually just don’t . But this time I felt I had to. For the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about buying a gamepad, and I let that idea simmer. Last week, I decided to go for it and started researching. I have to say you’ve really helped me understand the field and what’s best for me. I truly appreciate it. I can’t explain it exactly , but watching you makes it clear you’re a good person. Tomorrow, I’ll finally place my order! I’m going to get the BSP D9 because I’m used to the shape of the PlayStation controller, and it’s the most comfortable for me. I also loved the fact that the joystick, buttons, and gamepad are at a 45-degree angle, unlike almost all the other options, which I find just underneath, there was more considerations in order to choose that one but they aren't exclusive to this option its just that option has them also, anyway I believe that difference will make for a better experience for me. You’ve exposed me to the field so much that I’m already considering future options. If I buy another one, it will probably be the Galileo G8+ or something similar. But there’s still time for that. Anyway, thank you so much, and I’ll keep following you. I’m already eager for more content! :)

I'm glad you found the product that will serve your needs, and glad to have been an ally in your decision-making. I think you have the best approach, start with something affordable, that scratches many boxes, get acquainted with the "sport" and you know what? If things continue the way they have, the G8+ will be surpassed in a year's time, maybe even 6 months, who's to say. I'll be there then to share with you the latest and greatest options! :) I hope to continue to help you determine what your gaming needs are in the future. Cheers!

Firstly, this is "the" list and your work on telescopic controllers is the best in KZbin. I want to ask, for bluetooth controllers. How long can a phone go before charging it when it is connected with bluetooth. I will decide according to that info to buy a controller with a bluetooth or only usb-c connection.
@GameTechTalk14 күн бұрын
Way to boost my ego!! Thank you so very much for the kind words wow! It would heavily depend on the game but I would say most modern flagship phones would be able to give you at least 5 hours on a full charge and with a healthy battery, and if not more. And that's when playing "more demanding" games on the App Store / Play Store, there are probably a few exceptions out there like say RE Village on iPhones but if we're talking proper "mobile" games, it'd be a safe bet. On less demanding games, it can be much much more! Edit: I should also add that phones usually have a much better "fast charging" solution than most so you can also get 50% within 15-30mins of charging on most flagships for another 2-3 hours of gaming.

Is the wireless only of the Gamsir G8+ a concern if I'm playing older NES games that rely on quick input lag? Would you reccomend that I go with a wired option in that use case? Thank you!
@GameTechTalkКүн бұрын
Retro gaming is notoriously challenging because emulators have inputs on top of the controllers themselves. With bluetooth 5.3 and how robust GameSir's implementation is, I gotta say, they really make it so that I don't experience a difference between wired and wireless, that's not to say that there is not maybe an extra 5ms in the mix but it's not substantial enough that I'd feel as though the convenience comes at a sacrifice. Thanks for your trust! The G8+ and S9 is an incredibly difficult debate to have because really, there is such a fine line that defines which I would say I prefer and quite frankly, I might have different answers on different days but it all boils down to how one does most of their gaming. If you are tethered to your phone/tablet, then it's a no brainer, the S9 it is. Lately, I've been finding myself doing a mix of tethered and untethered a lot and that's where the G8+ takes the lead for me. Either way, they both are phenomenal options and Abxylute also has a fantastic software solution, which leads me to believe they are laying down a foundation from which to build from. Such a brilliant solution already as it is, I'm already excited for what the future might bring!

Thanks for putting value as one of the criteria. Now we see that higher price doesn't automatically translate to best experience. Maybe the build quality is top notch, but if I can't enjoy using them, I'm not sure that's a good buy for me. On the flip side, cheap controllers might be the best solution since I commute everyday. If it breaks/lost, at least it's only the controller and not my wallet lol. Maybe I'd buy the premium one to use at home, and buy some BSPs for gaming sessions on train/ bus, that seems a good plan.

Well, at least 40$ looks like real value deal lol.
@GameTechTalkСағат бұрын
Technically, based off of what I recall from the software, there is no "power only" mode meaning that by playing wired, which you can do btw, the controller will be powered by the phone, but would technically also charge the battery at the same time, based off of how much power is being sent from your phone. So the result is more dependant on the phone/tablet than anything else as not every device output the same power from their port. And yes, $40 for a G8+ is a steal!
@LMKonosuba13 күн бұрын
Maybe this sounds a bit off topic, but it does relate to some models on the list (for example the gamesir x4). Have you thought about doing reviews of cell phone coolers that fit with this type of models, because Telescopic Game Controllers are booming, but the heat generated can be a long-term problem that affects the life of the equipment. Because I have seen a large category of these and well it is difficult to say which one... or that it is really good and does not break down after a week of use?

I might do a compile video at some point where rather than testing that aspect of a specific controller, I pin multiple in one video and make that specific subject the center of it but that's not in the production timeline for now. More of a "maybe down the road" kind of idea.

I will say that there was a time when it was an S-tier unit and it certainly won me over to the GameSir family. I'm happy, happy, happy that I stuck around to the end of the video. That GameStop Galileo rebadge is absolutely gorgeous. I love the PlayStation-esq buttons and the red trim. It appears to be the sexiest version of the G8G. I've bought other GameStop branded accessories before. I can be a bit of a brand snob about certain things; however, to me the GameStop brand is A-OK, Dr. Jones. I hope this unit will be sold in their brick and mortar stores. I wouldn't be shocked if I'm able to nab one for around X2S pricing not that long after launch.

@GameTechTalk15 күн бұрын
I'd give the edge (but ever so slightly) to the G8+. Mainly because it just gives me that much more freedom, which is extremely important for me. The ability to not have to worry about having to choose between port access and controller is important in many situations. Being able to prop up my phone/tablet and continue gaming within seconds is just that extra level of convenience that gives it the edge for me.

Im confused about your GamWing AoBing Max comment, you say it converts USB-C to audio and others dont, than what others do? Isnt it what the audio jack supposed to do? to take USB-C audio from the phone and convert it to analog to plug-in headphones?
@GameTechTalk10 күн бұрын
Yes but it's a different protocol. And that protocol is only active when you are connected (and using) that specific device whereas AoBing could be connected bluetooth to your PC, while still capturing the audio from the USB-C plugged into your phone and outputted to the 3.5mm jack. Other devices that have both bluetooth and wired don't do that. I explain it a bit more into the AoBing review but quite frankly, I would recommend to not put too much thought into it, it's gonna be a useless feature for 99.9% of people to be honest. It was just surprising to see on a controller.

What's up guys! The cooler can be equally used with both the phone and tablet version, that doesn't change. Here's how I base my M15 vs S3 score. M15 is listed at 60. Memo S3 is listed at 40 tops, that's one major reason. Whereas I can somewhat partially agree with what @Xx3SPAZxX said, I can't quite fully. The EasySMX M15 (or Memo S3 phone) is not only not great for tablets, it's not compatible at all unless you SERIOUSLY mod it. Like, buying a new ribbon cable, cracking it opened, etc etc. On the other end, the tablet version does indeed not work perfectly with every phone, for example, the iPhone Pro bumps is somewhat of a nuisance, but it's useable still. My RedMagic? No issues at all with the tablet version. That's why. The tablet version WILL WORK on phones, some better than others. The phone version WILL NOT work on tablets, and then the price thing. That's where my logic was but if I had not taken these two into account, I would've rated them both as A. I hope that explains my thought process a little better. Cheers guys, thanks for your support!

Does the G8+ support phones with large camera modules? Because I see it listed as S tier almost everywhere I check but they don't mention that aspect....although I think I saw somewhere that when they put a samsung s24 ultra in it it didn't fit properly due to the thickness of the camera module. Could you confirm this?
@GameTechTalk15 күн бұрын
Yes and no, no because I don't have the S24 Ultra but I do have a Galaxy Z Fold 4 that has a very similar array of camera placement. When you crack it open, the cameras will not all fit into the cove that gets created by stretching the controller, so you would need to remove the little tab and with that removed, you're good to go. With that said, because the G8+ has complete case compatibility, my preferred approach (and what I do with my phone) is that I have a case that makes the camera module flush to the case. It's very common to prevent the cameras from being damaged from a fall or something. With that on, you never have to worry about the tab, I like that approach best personally.

Hey, the x2s is a b while x2s bluethooth is a c, in the review you say it's practically the same, so the tier difference is due to BT's price?
@GameTechTalk12 күн бұрын
It's a mix of many things, one aspect is how the X2s BT is in a sub-section that has seen alternatives since, such as the JK02 that pushes its perceived value down. Conversely, the X2s USB-C, often being shown for less in cost than BT, retains all of what makes it great, on top of having overall better performance due to being an immediate connection. I think the performance element could've been mitigated if the X2s BT had been BT 5.2 or 5.3, I don't think GameSir confirms that information as I remember looking for it but I'm pretty sure it's a 5.0 protocol which is from an era where Bluetooth wasn't too focused on latency.

It really bums me out how disposable you treat these controllers. You tell backbone owners that they're holding onto their controller out of some misplaced emotion, then you say of your S-tier that it could last you up to a year before you'll need to buy a new one. In another section, you imply that consumers buy these just to toss one in every room of their house, so they always have something at the ready. Most people don't need functionality past solid buttons and accurate sticks. Great build quality should mean that the unit lasts a long time. The people that watch these reviews aren't trying to draft controllers for a fantasy team, they're trying to make a purchasing decision on something they expect to last. This whole video comes off as very condescending to people that don't have money to throw at tech every year
@GameTechTalk14 күн бұрын
Disposable is not necessarily a bad thing. Let me put this in perspective. That $20 controller that you are referring my comment from, if it lasts you a year, it's great for $20 no? The reality is a Backbone is 5 times the price, even if it gives you 5 years which I bet it won't based off of the defects that I had, that means you'll potentially shield yourself from a far superior experience in a year, in two, in three. I get your point, I was born in an era that things used to last a decade but we got to get on with the times. And I wouldn't say it's every company but there are a lot of them out there selling you a product as if it was made as good as 30-40 years ago when it's not, but charging you the premium that makes it believe that it is. As for having a controller in every room, I also hear you there but as a reviewer, I cater to multiple different buyers. Some people want to collect them, as I do. Some people want to have them in various rooms cause they want a solution no matter where, no matter when. Some people want to make conscious decision because they hope to buy one and have it last 5 years. That's ok too. And that's how I know that you are new to my channel, cause if you go back to my other videos, you'll see how much time I spend in the comments helping people find their one option, not a dozen. Should I not help the person that wants to buy a dozen for that reason? I wish to help everybody that wants help from me. I don't wish to attack the way you purchase these products, rather I want to provide you with as much information as possible to assist you in making educated choices backed by opinion and data. Your shopping habits concerns only you. It's just a respect thing that I have for the different viewers that watch my videos, sorry if I offended you, it wasn't my goal. Thanks!
