Gloriously Prussian like. My favorite type of marches are the ones that sound Prussian and use the way the Prussian marches do

It is a Prussian march composed by the 20th century Prussians. Note that East Germany mostly included Prussia (Preussen) and Saxony (Saxen). The traditions do not disappear as you change ideology. Moreover, GDR govt wanted their army to look more German than the Bundeswehr. So they allowed many German/Prussian military traditions in the NVA.

Es ist zwar kein Teil der militärischen Tradition Deutschlands, aber im oberschwäbischen Weingarten wird dieser Marsch - auch bekannt unter dem Namen "Brandenburger Präsentiermarsch" - von diversen Musikkapellen bei der größten Reiterprozession Europas, dem Blutritt, gespielt. Immer wieder ein Ohrenschmaus!

@Emanuele Berro Nicht ganz korrekt, "Der Alte Fritz" , Unter den Linder wurde noch zu DDR Zeiten aufgestellt. Die NVA pflegte die preussischen Traditionen.

This isn't traditional. It (along wigh many other marches they played) was composed specifically for the NVA only and replaced many _actual_ traditional marches.

@Rich The Bundeswehr has prussian traditions: - Drill -Light Infantry(thats why they dont goose step) -Barrets(1st used in the Napoleonic Wars) -Uniforms(field-grey), (Marine and Air Force uniforms are basicly the same as the Wehrmacht/ Reichswehr ones) -Rifle(Karrabiner K 98K) -Marching Music -Wachbattalion("guard batalion", prussian "1. Garderegiment zu Fuß" ) If you think that goose stepping or wearing a Pickelhaube/Stahlhelm are the only prussian traditions than you should probably shut your mouth because you dont have any idea. The DDR have an Court (Usually the People running them are Selected by the Soviets) and Voting can be done, the East's goal was massive reconstruction of Civilian Infrastructure the West was more into Economics

Only the SED held the power. And if your believes and opinions were diffferent from what the SED told you they had to be, you're were gone. The DDR wasn't as bad as Nazi Germany, but still a bad nation.
