Thats really interesting how they designed everything (with the exception of the planet itself) around Boba's armour. The story surrounding it all is more interesting than the character himself. It was a great decision by Lucas to bring Mandalore into the Clone Wars, as the arc they underwent subsequently, is terrific.

It's interesting hearing all this stuff regarding Mandalore and it's people over a decade later with Rebels & The Mandalorian expanding upon and in some cases retconning parts of it. For example Jango Fett now being considered a real Mandalorian now, which can be written off as "Obi-Wan asked this one guy who ended up being evil so he was probably lying." and then there's Rebels stating that the Darksaber was made by a Mandalorian Jedi and not simply a stolen lightsaber.

I always thought it was pretty ambiguous as to whether Almec was being straight with Obi Wan and Jango wasn't a Mandalorian or if he was just trying to disavow him to save the political blowback of one of his citizens basically trying to kill a bunch of jedi, and maybe suceeding I don't recall if he got any in the Geonosis battle.

This is why I love Star Wars, an entire civilisation and facet of the universe created from one cool-looking guy in the background of one scene who could’ve just as well been cut-out or had been removed. Now Mandalore/Mandalorians are a cornerstone, a pillar of the history of Star Wars and Star Wars content, to the point that its namesake is one of the most popular pieces of entertainment at the moment. Personally they always reminded me of Israel/Palestine conflict, with the struggle between trying to have peace and with the military side of it. More so the landscape and the cities remind me of how parts of Israel cities/settlements are pretty much within an inhospitable desert

These episodes are the first time I ever found the Mandalorians even the slightest bit interesting. I love the idea of a pacifist culture with a history of war that they're trying to leave behind. When i was watching this as a kid I was actually really upset that Jango wasn't a mandalorian, this was long before I even knew about the EU and TCW and movies being the only SW media I saw. But after seeing what type of person Almec really was i just assumed he disowned Jango. Now after having read some EU media, I cant even imagine how much people were upset that he wasnt a mando, when he even had an ancestor who was a very important figure in mando history.

You will find the clone pilot in the scene has a Mandalorian crest on his pilot helmet. Nice little easter egg that goes by fast, and makes me think they were actually associated with the Mandalorians in the movies since Fett is the blueprint. What's unfair is how they're saying people automatically assumed Jango was a Mando, just because of his armour, despite the fact there were a few EU comics, & Games about him being a mandalorian.

Most of the extras from Rebels are already on the Star Wars channel. There isn't really any that are similar to the Clone Wars behind the scenes stuff, they are only around 5 minutes long. I've tried uploading one of the videos that isn't on the Star Wars channel only to have it immediately taken down and I got a copyright strike.

I did too but this consoled me: Like in The Mandalorian TV show, Mando isn't inherently Mandalorian either, he's a foundling, meaning the true Mandalorians found him and raised him in their culture under their wing. Jango when he was very young was also a foundling by a true blooded Mandalorian and has a similar story, as outlined briefly in the Star Wars Bounty Hunter game.

Jango and Boba are still not mandalorian. All we know is Jango was a foundling under Jaster Mereel. For all we know we abandoned that life to become a bounty hunter, and we definitely know Boba doesn't associate with the mandalorians at all aside from his father's armour. So they're having thekr cake and eating it too with Jango simultaneously being associated with Jaster Mereel like in Legends while not being Mandalorian like George Lucas intended.

Not at all, he just uses the armor of one, and maybe he knows some of their ways and methods because of jango and his lessons, but that's not being a Mando.

Like Sabine said in Rebels the armour is inherited but also reforged to make it a part of the current wielder's identity. Boba could've scavanged other sources of beskar to reforge his father's armour. But Boba definitely does not associate himself with the mandalorians, he just feels that his father's armour is his inheritance. And Jango being a foundling does not at all contradict George's idea of Jango not being mandalorian in the movies since he could've given up his mandalorian ways in pursuit of being a bounty hunter. It's a way of having their cake and eating it too
