A Sufi-ritual in Egypt

In a village in the Nile delta the 'Rifahi' Sufis perform their ritual to celebrate the birthday of the Profet (Muhammed).
In a number of stages they dance themselves into trance in order to connect with God.
The whole ritual takes two and a half hours.

Because of the fact that prophet Muhammed hasn't showed us to pray by dancing or by doing rituals as in this video.Any innovation in the matter of Deen is bid'a & those who clings to bid'a is a deviator & not a true muslim.....Prophet himself has said that he had completed the teachings of deen before his death....sufiya is an innovated ideology which borrowed heavily from the mysticism.....It's not even classified as islamic....& Saying that these rituals of sufiyya is a better way of remembrance is itself a grave danger that it indirectly says that the prophet lied or hid the way of a better worship from his own ummah ...nauzubillah.... If you have any doubt in mysticism & other mystic rituals look for it as they are followed by a number of other pagan religions including hinduism & Buddhism.....& borrowing such tradition to islam is itself a nifaaq & csn even lead to kufr like grave worshipping Sufi shrines in India & Pakistan. So study proper deen & adhere to the sunnah of rasoolullah & not some man made innovations.peace

Thank you for posting this amazing video. A beautiful musical and spiritual tradition. Sufism is the esoteric side of Islam and often mis-understood. Many moslems reject it ... just as many christians reject esoteric christianity. Perhaps materialists feel their "scientific" secularism threatened by seeing people acheive trance states without drugs? People have been connecting to the Divine through music, dance, and chanting since the dawn of time. Those who see it as evil should look in their own hearts for connection to God and not worry how others talk to God.

There is nothing wrong in this and this is part of the Ummatul Islam, as long as they do not do shirk or deny Allah It is part of the Islamic call. If you study well the influence of those who have that deep spiritual side of Dhikr you will see the great impact that they have had in the spread of the Islamic Call. No one is a shirk or a kuffar as long as they say and believe in laa ila illa Allah, Muhammadan RasuluAllah (SAAWS). Asalamu Alaikum upon all the Muslims brothers and sisters that believe in Tauhid in Allah and the last messenger Muhammad (SaAWS).

I'm sure there are good intentions on what they do, but would not be surprised that a few of these men are possessed by the same entities that possess the mediums, Christians, or Hindus. Why do you say this is so sad? When they are mentioning the names of Allah and asking Allah to bless Muhammed---This is what Allah says in the Quran. Allah says that Muhammed is a mercy unto mankind Wa ma arsalnaka ila Rahmatan lil Alamin. Allah says to remember and call out Allah in the Quran. Allah says in the Quran and ask Allah to bless Muhammed. Allah says that He forgives everything except Shirk=to associate anyone else with Allah. Islam is submission to Allah and to Love, obey, and establish what Allah has revealed to Muhammed in the Quran. when did any of the companions use YT? Think twice before condemning others. Zikr is prescribed in the Qur'an (more than 260 times, i.g. 2:152, 8:2, 13:28,...). Contrary to the Namaz/Salah, ALLAH (cc) left the form of the Zikr open. That's way we have worldwide such a rich diversity of Zikrullah. We need not to debate, Zikrullah touches your heard (as Allah (cc) states in 13:28) and if not you should work on your self instead of pointing to others. Zikrullah forever
