I've wondered about the correlation a lot too, it's super weird. I can see super high stress from running smth like a massive channel ending up in high stress responses (addictions, negative behaviors), but why is it so often children with these biggest guys?? Maybe it just has to do with the fact that the (usually) largest channels are used to appealing to a wide audience (i.e. children inclusive) and so there's a predisposition from appealing towards children that can be associated with that type of personality? Maybe humanity is so scuffed that it's a normal distribution of weirdos and these guys just actually have the resources and opportunity to live out those behaviors, which is why we see it more? It could also have to do with the online community being on average intensely more neurodivergent and perhaps there's a statistical correlation there when it comes to mental illnesses? (Before someone thinks I'm trying to say anything bad about neurodivergence, I fall within that category. I'm purely talking statistical trends, not motivations or causation). Anyways I'm just rambling but I truly don't understand it.

I mostly agree with Charlie, marrying someone is a whole nother affair with an outside party involved. The surgery thing is kind of a weird topic because the idea of letting a hormonal teenager deciding life lasting consequences on their body is just foreign to me. I think that Charlie really unsold how uncommon it is for people to just jump to surgery though, most people go through a social change and usually are pretty comfortable with being a certain gender before any surgeries happen. Charlie ignoring that just gave Sneako more fuel to the fire, too bad he burnt himself right after though. Also can we talk about how badly Sneako wants to talk about age of consent? Its not doing him any favors by bringing it up every 10 seconds Its like he doesn't understand the idea that children CAN'T consent but just wants to come up with a reason why they should be able to, what does he even gain from that sort of argument?

Once you are 18, you can get a tattoo, get a vasectomy, cosmetic surgery, whatever, and that's your decision to make. sneako was conflating srs (sex reassignment surgery) with hrt, he wasn't coming at the argument with good faith at all obviously. srs LITERALLY ISNT LEGAL for minors to have, there are SO few minors who get it and it shouldn't be a thing that happens, but as a person who is trans, i went on puberty blockers which are COMPLETELY reversible and have NO downsides until i was the right age to decide if i wanted hrt, and i had doctors, therapists, parents, and myself involved in the whole process even to get on puberty blockers which are completely reversible. srs is not a thing children get and they should not be getting it, and i doubt charlie actually thinks kids should be allowed to get it, he was just caught off guard since he's not used to debating, and because sneako has done loads of prep work to be able to come at the "trans kids and hrt" debate in bad faith but not seem like he's acting in bad faith. there are already things in place to prevent children from having srs, it's not a thing kids get and is only included in the trans debate because people have been tricked into thinking it is, and even hrt is only administered after years of puberty blockers and after theyve been given plenty of time AND EVALUATIONS BY MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING to be able to get on it. and as an adult you have to be on hrt for at least 2 years before you can get bottom surgery, so no, no one is rushing in and getting their genitals cut off in some speedy fast process. transphobes make transitioning out to be some quick and easy process that is both irreversible and an "easy way to get your way through underhanded means" in sports or other various things. in reality, that's not how it works, you have to know what you're getting into to be able to transition. also no, i don't think kris is a good person, she's a terrible piece of filth - but clearly the common factor of people touching minors isn't trans people, it's youtubers with lots of power. it's obviously a power thing and most trans people are not people with much power, we're just normal people and there are bad actors in every community.

To be fair, can you really blame people for accusing trans athletes of underhanded tactics when most of them went from being average or below average as male athletes to suddenly dominating after transitioning? There's also the fact that most women speaking out about it aren't coming from a place of bigotry or hatred, rather it's from a belief that women's spaces are being violated for the sake of "equality", but others will often accuse them of being hateful in order to demand these women shut up so the Trans athletes (who were born male) don't have their feelings hurt. Does that sound "pro-trans" to you, wanting women to not speak so a biological male feels good?

@@andrewnigo61 Most top competitors have some level of steroid and/or hormone use to increase their physical abilities. Sure, we can draw the line and say "born male = stronger" in the same way we could say "steroid use = stronger" but the playing field in womens' athletics is way more equal than anti-trans inclusion arguments make it out to be. Given how maliciously sexist old studies have been, with new data, I wouldn't be surprised if that gap is even smaller than believed. Obviously there's probably a better solution than drawing a line between sexes, or forcing trans women out of sports, I.E: creating a new athletics division divided by local and/or national rankings, rather than assigned sex at birth. It's not really the fault of trans athletes that sports are divided by birth sex, or that the male sex are theoretically advantaged in athletics. That's part of why people get upset at the idea of excluding trans women from womens' sports, as it often comes from the place of hating the trans athletes themselves for "ruining the sport for cis athletes". While I can't really blame people who don't want trans people included in womens' sports, I can't blame those staunchly against such inclusion either.

The venezuelan situation is a shit show. From many years it has only been from the presidency of the socialist party from Chavez, and after his death passed on to Maduro. Now the same had happened back on 2018 where the elections had Maduro as the winner despite many polls to provide evidence of the contrary. Truth of the matter, despite there being an impeach in parliament for Maria Corina Machado and making an opponent unable to be for the elections, despite many Venezuelans outside of the country to be unable to vote by the CNE (the national entity responsible for the voting and legalities of those process) not considering them as eligible to voting except those who are in favour of Maduro by a possible 30 to 40% of Venezuelans outside the country who are just standing without votes, despite the many videos of sabotage towards the voting houses, and many more; Venezuela is currently running a dictatorship with Nicolas Maduro. The voting would have swayed to their favour nonetheless, it is just to show international politics that they are "giving a presentation of democracy by allowing its people the right to vote" I hope you can cover the news from Venezuela carefully Omni. As a venezuelan myself the situation has been horrible, so i would recommend to understand what has happened the past years to be aware of the problems that plague us, and present it to your audience so that they can be educated
@jam69204 ай бұрын
I've been interested in finding a reliable source to get a better understanding of what's actually happening politically in Venezuela, but it's kinda hard. As a Venezuelan, what do you think of Geopolitical Economy's channel reports on Venezuela?
@DestroyerofX4 ай бұрын
Omni, based on what I've seen about that part of the speech, I'm fairly certain the Trump quote is him telling people who aren't politically active that they should come out and vote this time, at which point he will solve any issues they have to such a point that they'll never feel the need to come out and vote again. More of a "Hey, we need all of you just this once" than a "There will never be any more elections".
@colleenmcbride36564 ай бұрын
That's exactly what he was saying, but it's not a good news day if they can't pick apart everything Trump says and twist it into a way to make him sound like a dictator. Also, Trump has disavowed Project 2024 multiple times. It's not his plan.

In the sneako v. charlie situation, both situations come down to consent. There are no 9 year olds just deciding to transition. Those situations are extreme cases where extensive medical and high level medical evaluations have to be conducted because the child cant consent. Thats the point of hormone blockers, to give time until they are in the right mind to consent. A child can’t consent to marriage. But also consent doesn’t make things permissible if there is coercion. If one of the people in the romantic relationship doesn’t have rights and is literally treated like property, its wrong. Coincidence that proponents of a male hierarchy over women(anti-feminist) tend to support child marriage.

The issue with that clip of the debate betwe Charlie and sneako is that sneako was arguing extremely fallaciously and disingenuously, but Charlie isn't experienced enough in debating or logic to understand that. And it's okay to not know things, but sneako isn't interested in having a fair argument; he wants Charlie's inexperience to be a stumbling block. Plus by sneako's own extreme consequentialist philosophy (if nothing bad happens then ethically and/or morally okay), then full physical transitioning as a minor is should be allowed as long as all the rights boxes were ticked. But maybe, just maybe, for the same reasons that a family and a minor should not be able to come to the decision to get married, full physical transitioning should be the same way (good thing a suite of psych evals are necessary :)), rather than saying that if full transitioning is okay, then underage marriage should be too. It's always funny to me that people try the "that's okay so this should be too" angle when it could also be "this isn't okay so that shouldn't be either". Something about arguing a biased position I guess.

Hey Omni. Just thought I'd hop in on the Olympics debacle with the whole Christian community thing. I'm a Christian so take it how you want but I think while there's certainly the issue between mmm, let's just say certain types of Christians and the lgbtq+ community, I think the issue fundamentally more goes into portraying a religious moment and putting your own artistic freedom over it. If it was Hinduistic, Islamic, Taoistic, Buddhist, etc. and an international event felt it was artistic freedom to take an incredibly pivotal moment to that religion and make a show out of it, not out of genuine respect, but simply as a backdrop to push your own message, I can certainly understand why people find it so disrespectful. If I saw the same thing happen with any other religion and they felt offended I would feel it's justified. I also think it's worth mentioning that due to aforementioned ... tensions between the two communities it can can look to outsiders like it's a purposeful attempt at mocking the entire religion rather than any sort of performance in good faith (make of that what you will I didn't even know about this event until like 3 days ago.) I think you can argue it's because oh well Christians are just homophobic/transphobic and so on, and that wouldn't actually be 100% wrong, but I think it's missing the actual point. It's hard to explain how culturally meaningful some of those types of things are and how loose portrayals and uncaring representations can be perceived, especially on a literally global stage. I'm not saying any of that to correct whatever your opinion on it might be but I just wanted to add more "inside" perspective. Anyone can feel free to clown on me if they think I'm just excusing some type of behavior, but I think this wasn't exactly a tactful display from France.

I'm really tired of all of the arguments made in bad faith against trans people. There are close to zero people that get reassignment surgery as minors. It's always a bad faith argument because it lumps puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery into one big "le trans"; when all three are different and are diagnosed at different stages of maturity. For the record: in practically almost all situations, minors are ONLY given puberty blockers, which are COMPLETELY REVERSIBLE, and only work as a temporary solution for the kid to be able to socially transition. These people lump everything together to make it seem extreme and dangerous. Their goal is to get it banned altogether; because they are bigots, straight up

The issue with the Sneako thing is that people don’t seem to understand that sexual consent is not the same as medical consent?! One of the conceptual differences is that nobody, under any circumstances, is allowed to consent to sex for another person - no matter whether they’re 3, 17 or 40 years old. Medical consent functions differently on a conceptual level as it can be given by eg a legal guardian, whether it be to surgery on a broken foot or other kinds of medical treatment - like those needed to transition. That is basic consent theory/philosophy of sex.

The issue is that no one is going to have a good will conversation about it. I don’t really think this issue is that complicated. I have two much younger cousins who came out as trans, both from different aunts. One was MtoF and the other was FtoNB. I gotta say, it's been a rolllercoaster of name changes, of gender identities, and at one point "kinning" things from video games. At all points, radical acceptance, rolling with it, and letting them just figure it out over the years has been the best method. Pushback or denial just pushed them further into their discord/tiktok communities. When people treated being told the one was Non-binary as the same level of giving their name, it took some wind out of their sails to stop getting reactions. Firm "no" to body mods or hormones until they're an adult were received with tantrums at some points, but eventually acceptance as neither could deny we all had their best interests in heart. However, I draw the line at being a furry.

In 2020, she was among the LEAST popular candidates fielded by the Democrat party in their primary, and her performance as Vice President has been lackluster at the absolute best. I think its the factor of wanting to cancel people in general. If you can't hit a person directly, find someone they know and hit them there. I find it weird when there is a hate about a person thats unwarented, then something comes out in the future saying they did something bad thats completly unrelated to the original reason of why the person was hated. There are a group of people that wanted to cancel jimmy for a different reason, but when they found the thing out about Ava, they used it to get at Jimmy. Now its evolving to other very recent issues. Its hearsay until i actually hear it from one of the contestants.

Okay I hate to say it but Sneako had a point. You can't say "yeah, a 15 year old can consent to swapping genders" and then say "a 15 year old can't consent to sex with an adult". The whole point of an age of consent is that a child's mind isn't developed enough to make such a big decision. So why is gender reaffirming surgery fine, but sex isn't? Both of those things are MAJOR decisions, why is the Child's consent taken into account for one and not the other? If the parents consent to it, the child consents to it, the other party consents to it and their parents consent to it, then why is it illegal for a 13 year old to marry a 30 year old, but legal for a 13 year old to begin HRT? If everyone consents, it should be fine... right? Either its fine in both cases, or it's not fine in both cases. We can't have it both ways. I say its not fine in either case. A child does not have the mental capacity to accurately decide they want to swap genders. This is the same age range that think no one understands them, the world is against them and that the adults around them have no idea what its like to be them. This is the age range that actively goes against the grain as a form of rebellion, start engaging with emo culture and are easily influenced by trends. They cannot consent to HRT. Fuck, I know I wanted to be a girl when I was in my teenage years, but as an adult I can see that was just the "Grass is greener" thoughts in action.

Also More importantly you do not get transitioning surgery nor hormones when you are a minor, you get puberty blockers which can be reversed and also simply stop your puberty (in this context the sudden surge of hormones in your body) from activating. But as soon as you stop taking them, that hormonal stage in your puberty will begin again. It just stalls it until you're of age when you can start taking estrogen or testosterone your body won't have to also reverse or change things in your body that was already would be in the prossess of the opposite direction you want, on top of changing your body to what your feel more comfortable with. That's why they are accepted for the parent and child to consent, because it is reversible and something a child can consent to, because that is your identity, it is an individual choice. Marriage and sex is not, it involves other people and children do not understand the dynamics and consequences of sex and a literal lifelong commirtment, therefore they canot cosent to marrying an adult. Not even mentioning the even more important fact that we literally should not encourage pedophilia, you would think that would be a normal logical take, but Sneaker never has any logical take because he's a pos grifter.
