Everything was sacred and hard to come by. Never before seen accolades on the internet, so it hit alot harder. Especially since fanbases were alot more grounded, and the top YTbers were authentic and revered since there weren't as many copy and pasting content that were genuinely gripping enough to build a fanbase for high sub counts. Nowadays, almost all the content you see is being redone and barely rebranded to some degree by 1000 other people to be favored in the algorithm. Authenticity is almost impossible nowadays, it's a matter of who can do it better.

Back in 2022 i remember youtubers talking about how they could botch the numbers with AI bots. Also they were beta testing AI algorithms to help curve the numbers to get more views/subscribers. Not saying beast an his team is doing that. But considering that the dude study trends and theme and click like subscribe ratio it wouldn't surprise me if he was testing it out. I'm not saying mr beasts subscribers are legitimate or not but it does leave you wondering if there's some kinda of loophole or cheat he's using to gain more subs. Also the decline in pewdiepie is a given considering that he has a kid now. So his focus will be more towards his family than the channel which is good.
