I think we all can agree the biggest tragedy of Hurricane Sandy was the fact we had to listen to Shuli in the Jackie Chair for 3 days in a row. He got the chance of a lifetime. In studio, on air, multiple days audition to make his case to be in there full time… and he shit the bed 😅

I don't think it had anything to do with compensation. What nobody really wanted to say is that if something really bad happened with their wives, the wives would crucify them for going to work during a state of emergency and I don't disagree. Howard could have taken the day off and done a show on Thursday if he wanted a full staffed show. Honestly there were no guests that could get there, there were no phone lines so the show actually suffered on a lot of levels. Personally even though i think Howard was being a dick and I disagreed with him, this is a great saga and I re listen to it a lot haha

There's so many funny things in there. Howard says he had the ISDN line in case "he couldn't get in", which means if Ronnie couldn't pick him up to drive him 5 minutes down the road to Sirius. Gary also would have been in but the bridges were closed, the same reason Howard is already trying to leverage to not go to Kimmel 9 hours later. Howard could have literally taken one day off during a national emergency but didn't want to make up the day. He turned it into great radio but he was being a complete dick about it haha
