Hey bro, I just wanted to give you some suggestions based on this video. But first, I will appreciate that you tried Indian food and also welcome to India. Noww my suggestion: 1- In indian culture 90% of the time things are eaten by hand, and spoon can also be used sometimes like for curry or something. 2- The food wwas freshly prepared, thats wwhy it took time; and also many Indian foods, require complex process or preparation; Hence, it takes time. 3- You can ask someone there, maybe restaurant staff on how to eat Indian food in Indian wway, and wwhat is wwhat etc. 4- The places wwhere you get the bill with taxes is generally not a scam, as they have fixed prices and optional discounts. 5- Mango shake, It is already shaked, so you don't need to do it. On top it wwas ice cream, wwhich you can eat by spoon wwhile drinking mango shake. 6- Try all the food on plate, and different combination. So you wwill know how each tastes

Adding few points: 1- Its right that staring is not a good thing and people should not do it, but as you are not from this land and look unique or different to them; and i guess out of curiosity they stare. Everyone will not stare but few are curious. Now my story, even though I am a Indian but from very big and developed city; 10 yrs ago wwhen I was 13 year old, I visited a village; feww where staring, i guess it was bcs I looked different to them, including my outfits as well. During the vegetarian thali on left hand is papad and on right hand is puri . Papad to be eaten with rice and other spices curry . It is salty and an appetizer. Puri is eaten with curry ...😊

And right way to eat is you put those lil bowl out of that plate put it beside. Spread the rice in plate then pour daal, gravy turn by turn mix it then eat. I think the white thing is makkhan or curd. If you love it that much it could be makkhan it's prepared from milk and processed into butter. But you can't get that in pure form in restaurant. If it was real the money was worth it. At the last I think you ate sof it's cumin coated with sweetners. It acts like a mouth freshner served after food in restaurants.
