Try going to the highest police authority in your city with your media permit. Show them your videos on Sudan and ask them to give you clearance to do your work so that the local police stations cannot interfere. Then ask, if a local police station cannot give you a police man, can you hire your own uniformed guard/private security? Or perhaps you have no private security outfits there yet?

It was the case in Nairobi CBD people were not allowed to film since the terror attacks of 2014 but things changed now you can film anywhere as long as the place isn't gazetted.
