Okocha wasn't celebrated enough, even back home here in Nigeria.What was an amazing player he was ❤❤ goat. Indeed, he created somany dribbling style that they all use now, but just because he wasn't from Europe, they refused to give him all these credits, etc....love you, JayJay ❤❤❤❤

@cadrollhunting35648 ай бұрын
Okocha is one of the many players of the 90s and early 2000s that are getting more overrated with every year that passes by. Sure, he was an amazing dribbler, but he was mainly inconsistent and unproductive. I followed his career from his early days in frankfurt and while he had moments of absolute magic, that was the exception and he never turned into the world class player people thought he would become. In the end his career peaked very early and he never even played for a single top club in Europe in his whole career.

Sure, but football in those days was actually fun and full of world class, super talented players. Now, football is so sterile and boring it is incredible
@cadrollhunting35648 ай бұрын
@@worlddd7777 i totally agree with you and i really enjoyed football back in the day more as well, so much more flair and unique characters. Football has been tactically optimized and the talent of the average player is out of this world nowadays, but i agree that everything has become more predictable.

i think the main reason this man was so good is that his moves were so unpredictable
@MrRizzyWizzy2 ай бұрын
@duckleaf69 Isn't that the point? I played up until I was hurt in college, and my best goal ever was one I didn't even touch. I was playing indoor, and stood right in front of the goalkeeper calling for the ball. The guy passed it to me from behind the 2-point line, and right before the ball got to me, i pretended to take it to my left, so I could go around the keeper, but I just let the ball keep going the way it was passed, and the keeper went with me. So the guy passing to me scored a 2 pointer. After the game, the keeper came up to me and said that was one of the best fakes he has ever fallen for!

@eureka01078 ай бұрын
Okocha was not only a joy to watch, but I also think he perfectly embodies the kind of playmaker that could only arise in a bygone era of football. As brilliant as he was, nowadays between positional play, gegen pressing and lowest as low gets block defending he would told he is too unathletic, or too slow, or doesn't have enough end product or doesn't track back enough, and he would either see very little game time as a starter or he would be forced to become just another boring cog in a machine. I like some of the aspects of modern football, but I also lament the chronic lack of spontaneity that ball players like Okocha used to bring. I hope this old man hasn't bored you with his whining.

@@worlddd7777agree I find football hard to watch at times now, and when pep was at Barca I must admit they played some of the best football I’ve ever seen but it also bored me to death the same as arsenal, nowadays the ball hardly goes out of play, players got to wait to celebrate because of VAR I don’t know if it’s because I’m old but I think we shouldn’t of changed what didn’t need to be fixed var should only be used for goal line tech rest should be the refs, damn I miss the old days

What we have left is Pace, strength, goal scoring ability....
