The original match of the day. Well, the big match. Scotsman here and hearing this makes me want to be 15 years younger and lace up my footie trainers and go to an empty car park with my football and just have a good ole kick about. Makes you actually want to get outside to even a local astro turf and just lace up those trainers and relive the moment. 29 years of age. And I still love football. Why? It truly is the most beautiful of games and it should be played to in that manner. One day we will all be aulder and we will look back. We may become auld and start to deteriorate but we will always be one of you(footie fans, players, amateurs and just anyone who liked to play the game to any standard) nostalgia? Is that the right term for the feeling of being brought back to a moment in time. Footie will always be for the fans. No matter where you are or how you look. It is a game for all. Hope everyone else is enjoying this timeless classic.

Sadly at the start of 1982. We in the south had The Big Match replaced by The Saturday Match. Less london teams but not as good a theme as this.

Granadaland had 'Kick Off'. Though its theme music was penned by Francis Monkman (Curved Air and Sky fame), the theme from his colleague in 'The War of the Worlds' does take some beating.
