For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

I hope you don't take these criticisms as insults, there is real potential in your writing, but it could be waaay better. The story's plot was wayyy too rushed. It was also strange that it played in our time-line's present. It made it ingenuine, which is weird to say cause this was a story about a God in a dying Universe. Had it been set within some more distant future with a more ellaborated setting, I could have immersed myself better. Or, if it was an anomaly near the Earth's orbit that was easier to reach with current NASA funding and technology, that could have solved this problem. The problem being "realism." If a story is portrayed as having actually taken place, it damn well ought to provide a plausible way to take place in reality, no matter how unrealistic and inplausible it is. The characters also had no real depth to them. The story of the physicist's daughter or the main character needs more attention, more ellaboration for readers to connect to them on a more personal level. And the characters just, somehow knew information without any explanation. How did they know this was a dying Universe? Were there tests they did? As for the concept and the story, there were grand ideas, but the execution was just not good enough for the idea itself. Hope these suggestions are in some way helpful.

Thank you for posting this - it nicely captures my thoughts as well. There is a kernel of a truly interesting story here with potential for something much grander along the lines of "Rendezvous With Rama" tilted towards cosmic horror but such a take requires a steady escalation of tension as each subsequent revelation encountered on this mission of discovery becomes increasingly freighted with an odd alchemy of dread and anticipation as the reader follows the protagonists down the rabbit hole. (Edited b/c autocorrect is a $#@!*&)

@@genghispecan Agreed. Tension is very necessary for these kinds of stories to hit.
