Hell, Tails could’ve jumped out of the Tornado and did the usual Jump Attack on Furnace whomst is stated to be destroyed during the collision in Prey. Hell, Sonic could’ve easily done that too. Furnace isn’t built with durability in mind so one hit probably would pop it like a regular badnik.

It appears that sonic has gone trough the "prey" process a hole buncha times thanks to the time stones and is concious of the fact that he has died and will probably die again, but appears to remenber everything, and so does everyone else, because starved says: "Not this AGAIN" Sonic says: "you sonuva-" and "youve gotta be kidding meeeee-" And tails is the one that restarted everything again as seen in the cutscene, so it seems that starved, sonic and tails are on this loop until sonic manages to escape and eggman dies for good
