Hi Daz, not sure if this this correct way to send you a reply to your message to me 😢. This is a story about my experience in the wind. I used to be an RNLI crew member, the phone rang at 1am, the request from the coastguard was an immediate launch, the wind was gale8 occasionally force 9 ,a SW blowing all the way from the Atlantic. A fishing boats engine had stopped, it was off St Bees head and was going ashore, the crew would not have survived. We took the boat on tow, the fishing boat weighed about 27 tonnes. There was a large following sea, the waves were at a height of 15 feet and we were losing sight of the boat in between the waves. Due to the conditions both lifeboat tow ropes snapped. We asked the stricken boat did they have a tow rope, they had a very thick tow rope, my comment was that isn't going to snap. Their tow rope wasn't very long, we knew it was dangerous to tow with a short tow but there was no alternative. The worst happened, their boat came down a gigantic wave and hit the rudder of the lifeboat disabling it. We managed to get the fishing boat crew onto the lifeboat then had to cut their boat free and it later sank. A Royal Navy helicopter came from RAF Bulmer, his call sign was rescue 177. The fishing boat crew were winched onto the helicopter, in the dark with a 15 foot swell. This put the winch man and the helicopter in great danger as we were at anchor. It was amazing to see the winch man appear on deck. Unfortunately we had to wait at anchor for the Port St Mary Lifeboat to tow us back to base. The whole rescue took 14 hours. Not doing that again!!!! The new Workington Lifeboat is a Shannon Class and has no rudder or propellers, it is all controlled by water jets.

I thought the Romans would have played their part in all of this . They must have had proper hoard going on at the time. Must admit, I do enjoy a good prospect, most people just want to see a pan full of gold on here but the hard work and continual prospecting (asking yourself many questions too) is important as it keeps the panning skills right up there

Mr Daz. I notice you're walking through bracken. Do you not get tick bites ? When I'm panning in Sutherland I'm always getting bitten.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures4 ай бұрын
I have been fortunate on my travels not to get bitten by ticks, if it is really over grown I will wear thick socks and pull them right up or even wear my waders on the walk in. Can I ask how the panning has been up at Sutherland. I have a friend who lives north of Golspie with a burn running through his croft and have often thought about prospecting his little corner of Scotland.
@Ian-vv6tf4 ай бұрын
The number one burn to pan ( in my opinion) is the Suisgill burn. Some good chunky bits of gold. Access is pretty restrictive though. You have to hire a cottage off the Suisgill estate to give you panning access. Mind you, a friend of mine found 16 grams gold in one week. Spraying all my gear with permethrin next season to deter the ticks. Your videos are excellent by the way 👍.

@SAABROSS4 ай бұрын
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures that's awesome, it's good to have interests that harm no one. I've no specific background so can turn my hand to anything, especially when I can use time attention and a dash of care and turn a few hundred pounds into a few thousand pounds worth, increase the value shall we say as I'm not really money orientated, I just end up with money as a consequence of doing what I love and harming no one. I guess my background is survival, staying alive in a system that is perpetual slavery. And obviously that's not welcome on KZbin as it is pro slavery anti rights. I guess I'm a spiritual teacher as well as I have been at war all my life, enduring attack after attack becoming more aligned with truth as I go. Which is enough to get me the colditz belson awscwitz guantanamo treatment so I don't go into anything deep here, just base level stuff as you see. And that is good your dad and grandad had the chance to spend time passing on skills to you, the family unit has been wrecked here, by the state. Things are in a bad way, and I say what I see, hahaha I can't help it, it's only right to tell the truth. I have a couple kilo of scrap stuff there, melted down, I need to refine it and see how much I actually have. I wouldn't mind making a belcher chain, or at least practice, I've studied the process and think I could source the equipment and set up a station to do it, it's finding the time though, that's one of the usual problems 😆 Anyway... Keep up the good work, and I'll keep an eye out for new uploads. Take care. Ross.
