Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person survival horror video game. The game is set in World War I, and the player assumes control of French soldier Henri Clement. Word of advice, never make eye contact with the Stalker. Even while hiding. If you lock eyes, the monster will instantly spot you.

Considering this is the same team that made Penumbra, I can tell they went back on the idea of the kennels part of Black Plague where you had to cover some of the holes in the walls using crates and how the creature stalking that area was sensitive to light.

I am a new fan. Finally someone who plays the game competently and amazingly just a bonus that you 100% the game. I am SOOO happy I found this channel after getting annoyed with two other gamers playing amnesia the bunker. I won’t mention names but one is super jumpy and the other does not read the game prompts well enough then asks questions that had they have paid attention the monster wouldn’t have gotten them sooo much. This game...I recently played it and oh boy... I've never felt fear like that since alien isolation AND NOT JUST BECOUSE OF A SIMILAR WORKING STALKER. The fear of making a single move is something I rarely had. The worst moments in both games are when you know the monster is nearby, POSSIBLE AROUND THE CORNER and yet you DONT see it. You dont know where it truly is but the anxiety of knowing that that thing is possibly just 1 room away is terrifying. (That goes for both games BTW) The reason why I had more sh$# my pants moments in here than in isolation is becouse of the reality of the setting. Its not some futuristic space ship with possible ways to kill the freak thats loose. Its a realistic (or at least close to it) WW1 bunker. As a matter of fact even in no commentary videos that I saw (not just yours), there was visible fear and uncertainty. THATS HOW GOOD AND SCARY THIS GAME IS. THIS IS REAL HORROR.

I just found out about this game a few weeks ago for some reason. I played the dark descent non stop on my laptop when I was little but never got around to this game until now. I played on hard for my first playthrough as well, and I don’t regret it. I cannot wait to play through again on very hard. This game is incredible. Definitely the best horror game I’ve played since the dark descent . Edit: found out that very hard is called shell shock, I’m about halfway through on that and it’s my third playthrough, the game has me just as tense as the first playthrough still. It also adds more, you must get fuses to put into fuse boxes in each sub section for the generator to actually power that area. So if you don’t have your fuse boxes taken care of, you still have no lights with the generator on. Along with that, the stalker never retreats from gunshots, it only slows him down. You must damage him from explosives and other means to make him retreat. Your safe area is limited to the generator room only, the administration doors are only wooden. Only medkits heal damage. Shell shock is the ultimate experience in this game, holy crap is it terrifying. Oh and you get a much smaller quantity of loot and fuel in the mode, and saving isn’t straightforward anymore either. You must use 1 whole can of fuel to save. With how fast the generator goes through fuel, you must conserve fuel as much as possible. Be warned on that.

If I were playing this, I would make sure to keep that generator running as much as possible and only come out of one side of the safe room while keeping the other side locked at all times. I know he can try to follow you in there if you’re not careful, especially when the power is off. This game gives me the absolute creeps, man. Forget Cry of Fear or Dead Space. Amnesia and Penumbra are my top two scariest titles I’ve seen, because you do not get much in the way of weapons in either, even in this installment! Nostalgia! 😱😱😱👻👻👻☠️☠️☠️

If you’re playing on shell shock they take away the upstairs as a safe room, only the generator room is a safe room, they make the upstairs metal doors wooden doors and the stalker always busts them down.

First I want to congratulate you and wish you all the best❤️ . As for the game, well long story short Henry tricked Lambert into going on patrol one night which caused him to get hurt, which can be seen in the beginning of the game where Henry carries him back to the bunker when they are hit by a grenade. But later you learn from the documents that in fact Lambert saved Henry from a german grenade and brought him to the bunker. Lambert didn't have a single injury when they got back, and that was due to the water that Henry gave him to drink in the crater where he found him. Later Lambert transformed into that monster....

This story is a bit tougher to figure out as the various notes you collect don't come in chronological order, and they're from various different characters with different perspectives. But by looking at the date and author of each note, you can more or less piece together the timeline. The story takes place from April to July of 1916. In a French bunker on the western front in World War 1. 1. The soldiers in the bunker find some old tunnels underground connecting to the bunker. They assume that they were created by the Roman Empire centuries earlier. 2. The officers figure out that the tunnels go all the way into the German lines and that they could use them to get an advantage on the enemy by striking them from behind. 3. They set up an engineering team to start excavating further so they could properly use the tunnels for that purpose. 4. During this period, they start finding ancient texts in the tunnels. One of the soldiers starts studying and translating them. 5. Said soldier finds out that the tunnels weren't built by the Roman Empire but by a sort of order of cultists who sought to turn those tunnels into a passage to another world. 6. At the same time, as the excavation into the tunnels progresses, soldiers start hallucinating and having nightmares related to the contents of the texts. 7. Rumors about the texts and the madness of the soldiers start passing through the bunker. The officers heavily reprimand anyone talking about it and force them to keep working on the tunnels. 8. Eventually, a group of soldiers decide that they need to do something to save everyone from whatever is in the tunnels. So they blow up some explosives to sabotage the excavation efforts by causing the tunnels to collapse. 9. The saboteurs are heavily punished as traitors by the Officers. However, it does stop the excavation and everything resumes to normal. 10. About a month later, in a fateful night, Henri (the protagonist) and his colleague Lambert play a game of chance to see who has to go on patrol for the night. As a prank, Henri cheats to win so he can get back at Lambert for pranking him in the past. 11. Lambert goes on patrol and falls into a crater that was opened by the work in the tunnels and gets wounded. 12. After a whole day with Lambert not coming back, Henri feels guilty and goes on his own patrol to find him. 13. Henri finds Lambert in the crater, gives him a bit of water from a nearby spring, and proceeds to carry him back to the Bunker. They're then spotted by a German outpost and shot at. Henri gets wounded and falls unconscious (this is the final scene of the prologue at the beginning of the game). 14. Lambert manages to carry him back to the Bunker. Unknowingly, the water he drank came from the "other world" that the cultists in the tunnel were trying to access. (It's explained better in the other games, but drinking this water can heal any wound; however, it curses the person into slowly turning into a monster.) 15. Lambert starts to slowly mutate over the next few days. Soldiers start noticing strange sounds at night. 16. Eventually, Lambert becomes the ghoul creature in the game and starts killing the remaining members of the bunker. 17. The officers command the soldiers to form groups to hunt down the monster and kill it. However, guns don't do anything other than make it retreat. And it moves through holes in the wall to ambush and kill soldiers. 18. Eventually the officers get too scared and flee the bunker, blowing up the entrance and causing a collapse to seal everything inside. 19. The few remaining soldiers inside are eventually killed by the monster. The last one writes a note detailing how to find the things needed to blow the entrance back open and escape. 20. Henri awakes, having been in a coma since the night he went out to search for Lambert and being completely oblivious to what happened afterwards. The game begins at this point, and the rest of the events follow through with the player finding the necessary objects to be able to escape. I hope it's explained well!

Man hard mode is tough. I’m about 4 hours in on hard halfway through. It’s my second play through and good lord only 15 min of light with the generator which I’ve been trying to go without using fuel at all. Idk it’s tough. Nice job.

You can kill him at the wooden bridge near endgame (i wont spoil more), but that's about it. Explosives, gunfire, and such won't kill it, it'll just scare it away.

it's a Survival Horror. If you were allowed to kill the Monster, it would no longer be a Survival Horror, but a "Walking Simulator"/Story Driven game.
