These drivers are so fast, if your power supply current allows speed of the motor will pass speed of sound and the sticker on the motor can peal of with a loud boom scary sound in a fraction of a second .That little weight of label in those speed can not hold itself on the fast turning outrunning motor.

Although you are correct that there would be losses converting to DC then back to AC via an inverter, the advantange would be that the output voltage and frequency would be regulated.

Hello Mr. Electron, I'm working on an off grid remote 120/240vac 60Hz AC generator system. Your knowledge of the 3 phase generator could be valuable to the project. The plan is to use a low RPM permanent magnet generator rated 10kw at 170 RPM, delivers 3 phase power, but I'm not sure if this is AC or DC or what Hz it would be producing. I plan on driving this with a Lister Diesel running at 650 to 670 rpm through a 4:1 reduction drive which should increase the torque of the engine and reduce the speed of the PMG to it's rated specifications. Questions are 1) can the output be directly from the generator assuming voltage and Hz are in range. 2) is it better to use a higher voltage and reduce it to 120/240vac with a step down transformer? I have 240v and 380v options for the PMG Or will I have DC power from this PMG and need to to create AC and Hz from DC and what device/s would be needed to accomplish the correct voltage and Hz? I'm trying to gather as much information as possible before spending $4000 on the engine and PMG for testing. Thanks for the great information in this video! 👍 Cheers, Darrin Goodman

Power is fixed. It can't be increased but you can raise the efficiency by lowering any power loss through I×I×R.

Why don't you put two loads in two separate AC lines L1 - L2 and L2 - L3. This way no power will be wasted and you don't have to remodel your Valuable BLDC motor by any means!

i believe that the only purpose of the video was to demonstrate how to turn a bldc into a single phase generator.. a few of those connected in series "if possible" and ran through a transformer powerful enough something like 6Kw could run a house... if you have appliances that runs only on 220v ac.. and obviously connected to a dc motor that run all generators with pulleys at once...

I thought the same in the begining but the thing with bldc motors is that the number of rotor poles (magnet poles are not the same as the number of stator or armature poles) for this very reason, the output volts weren't 3 times. Cool observation
