Make 220V AC Generator from Old Mixer Universal Motor

In this video, i will turn an old universal motor into an electric generator using two ferrite magnets fixed to the armature thus producing single phase AC 220V.

Is there any idea could be used in this project ??? like, if we run armature with 12 vol by making less winding turns of 23 gauged wire. and magnate placed within empty space between outer big coils.

Awesome work! I really enjoy watching your videos. I have a question: What exactly the rectifier does and what happened if you don’t use it in this project? How to choose the corrector capacitor and how do you know this size capacitor is safe for touching? Can you show us the amps reading in all fases of the project? Rectifier converts ac to dc. U have to use it if you are gonna run a dc load. Important thing for choosing a capacitor is its voltage rating which should always be more than you are generating. After that, just go with the highest capacitance you have.

My first thought when I saw the title of this video was what, a brushless generator? I knew you could use a brushed motor like a generator by simply rotating the shaft and was puzzled as to how you would do this with no brushes until I saw you place the magnets on the rotor. It made sense then. My question now is in this configuration can you use this like a brushless DC motor, or would you need AC on the field windings for it to work?

Do a experimentation. Use a coil like a generator and the other one like a moter . Put a diod in the out put of generator to redirect the corrent to mouter coil . Try to extract more energy on axle than was aplied !

Try couple the shaft of the universal mixer motor with the shaft of the universal washing machine motor and connect the washing machine motor to the mains and measure the voltage and short circuit current output of the mixer ac generator you built.

late reply and sum1 can correct me if im wrong but this is basically a brushless motor/generator. Now that the inner shaft has magnets u dont need the brushes. Tho I have seen a few builds that still incorporated the brushes into the generator this is not one of them.

What about generating DC with a stepper motor ? No brushes to wear out and it easily gives a high voltage. To see this just put the leads in your mouth and spin the motor with your fingers. Stepper motors are everywhere these days - for example old printers, scanners etc.

This one also has no brushes.Also Stepper motors have multiple phases and compared to the single phase output of his mixer motor converted to generàtor, rectifier and filter circuitry is much easier than multi phase.Also amperes out is low for Stepper motors.12 volts is most commonly used many purposes.What he needs is 12-24v and high current.

@@MARC311O In your mouth. There's a difference. Stepper motors give a high voltage when the axle is turned by hand. You can sense this yourself if you put the wires in your mouth and spin it. There's no need to drive it with an electric drill to get a decent voltage. Also it has strong magnets inside so there's no field coil to energise.
