Metallica is immortal…Passed my love onto both my boys and my daughter, and my wife married into Metallica…I’ve seen them seven times, my wife three, the boys twice and my daughter once…46yo, boys 18 and 16, daughter 14…No live experience is like the Metallica stadium concert. The love and respect between fans of all walks of life and ages is palpable and electric, you can feel it in the air, literally…Thank the heavens they are still going into their 60s. What blessed fans we get to be, that these old MFers are still getting it, for all of us…

Absolutely true about the live stadium experience. I've seen Metallica 5 times! First time was with my friend Kelly when I was 20. I'm 42 now. I went again with my brother Mike and a late boyfriend (he passed in 2009) later. Then another time with both of my brothers and a friend 6 years ago, which was great having all 3 siblings at a Metallica concert! Went again with friends, then most recently with my husband. It's been an amazing experience watching them evolve!

They’ve been inducted into the HoF for 20 years and just put out another album…No band has put out new music over so many consecutive decades and continued to stay relevant and sellout stadiums without having to rely on their early hits. The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Elton John, anyone who still tours and sells out stadiums only plays shit they wrote in the 70s and 80s. Metallica writes and plays new music every few years. Seen them 7 times and no show has been remotely the same…

I did not become insanely obsessed with your beautiful music until after i was taking my daughter to classical music I am not sure what to call them, shows? Before that my son played all your music and I tried not to complain, but it kinda gave me a headache. Then after a Rachmaninov series where I got seats for me and my baby girl where she could see just behind the guest pianist to see how hard he worked to play Rach 3, then I loved listening to you guys all the time. well theyve had 10 studio albums, so picking one best song is definitely not easy. although 2 of their most known songs are probably "Enter Sandman" and "Master of Puppets". One recent favorite that i got addicted to though is "Sweet Amber" mostly just for the awesome guitar at the start. The album that song is on though is not very liked by most fans. As for all the original members still playing, almost. First lead guitarist left (dave mustaine), but that happened before the first album was even released, and since then its been the same lead guitarist, singer, and drummer, but theyve had 4 different bassists

I remember going to the Music For Nations head office in London to buy Master Of Puppets on the day of it's release in the UK. I was waiting in anticipation ever since the date had been announced in Kerrang! magazine, my friends thought I was nuts going all the way to London just to buy it when I could have waited maybe a couple of days to buy it locally, but I wanted to see the label's office anyway, being a complete Metallica geek at the time.

@@Nautilus1972 Except The Day That Never Comes? Execpt that isnt here either....?? Bleeding Me is a great track, but TLITD does not belong a greatest hits, Dyers Eve would belong before that track. Dont get me wrong, its a great track but its long and not even close to the best instrumental, though the interlude is up there with Orion.

Gen X'er in that group for sure! Growing up in the 80s was a complete blast ( was 11 in 1980 so majority of my teen years were spent, in my opinion, in the most fun decade in a long time!). Rules were much more relaxed-no curfews-I used to be out at all hours and survived. Police didn't hassle people about that many things- there was more of a "just stop doing that and go on your way" attitude toward "small" things. I had all the Metallica records and also loved Iron Maiden a lot-still do 🙂Miss those those times and love many genres from that time period.
