@michaelsotomayor50014 жыл бұрын
@@jtjc7705 that’s the keen part. Here’s the long version in case others want to follow. You need a total of four trips to the third asteroid. First is with a rover. This rover will create liquid locks and a path to nearest thimble reed plant (take acorns as well). Second and third trips will take refined metal (800kg) and some sucrose for the return trip. The fourth trip takes a trailblazer and requires sucrose rocket to be built with fertilizer for burner. Your pilot will now land on the third asteroid and build the platform (make sure it has head space) to land the rocket. At this point you can store anything you want in the return rocket. Metal ores, seeds, I even took pip eggs. Return and gg. Third asteroid will see my return when I take plastic and steel to tap into the metal volcanoes. Sit back and reap rewards. I will not really colonize the third asteroid until the nuclear buildings are available.
@jtjc77054 жыл бұрын
@@michaelsotomayor5001 right, so you got them from the third asteroid. There isn't really one right "long version" guide way to get thimble reed. You can also just deploy 2 trailblazers and each gives 400kg metal = 800 for instant launch pad >.> Or get lucky and it pops in pod after you've visited 3rd asteroid. Either way the OP was talking about not going to the 3rd asteroid yet.

@packediceisthebestminecraf90074 жыл бұрын
@@picklerick4296 I don't have it either, i was searching for an old video he made about space stuff. For that telescope thing, glass blocks its view. You have to use mesh or airflow tiles. Cobalts thermal conductivity without the radiant pipe bonus is 100, in comparison thermium is 220 and aluminum is 205. Then radiant pipes outright double that. Interestingly Cobalt has a higher melting point than regolith, so if/when we get regolith again it can substitute for bulk steel in a regolith melter heat exchanger (but you still need steel for the volcano/core). Unfortunately debris on rails uses the lower TC, which would be the regolith(1)+igneous rock(2) rather than cobalt(100) Also telescopes can see through airflow tiles (which you can put water on) and through water if it's less than 32kg/tile

The lack of regolith makes the sand from pokeshells more precious. If my math is right, you might even be able to sustain domestic arbor trees just by recycling the pH2O from the petroleum generator and excess toilet water. If you only hire about 7 dupes you are perfectly sustainable on the first planet. You have enough water from the two geysers to water your crops and electrolize your O2. But that is past thinking, it used to be water was the be all end all. But with polluted dirt being a viable O2 source this makes things a bit more interesting. Interesting side note, pacu can be fed seeds. Imagine a maxed out farmer on infintite balm lilly duty with massive chance to produce seeds each harvest, each seed feeds a fish for three days. You have a renewable source of food for your fishes.

Yo Francis, I've been looking around for liquid management, specifically how to build in a bypass when a pipe gets full, and also for the liquid to continue to flow even if there's nothing powering the movement. Basically for my thermoaquatuner. Throw a dog a bone?

That link from Billy Bob covers what you are looking for, if you check the description of the video their is a save game file linked. You can download it and load up the game to have a look at the piping in action.

A thought...maybe try some solutions that don't involve an atmo suit. The dlc seems to try to encourage you to try other things by limiting your access to reed fiber. For example, you have a teleport liquid pipe you haven't used yet and 2 sub-zero gysers you can throw at the hot oil problem. You don't have to dump your fresh water on it.
@FrancisJohnYT4 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the intention is for you to go get reed fibre on the third planet in a rocket and use that to access oil. We could use other more brute force solutions but I want to try it the intended way.. first time round anyway.
@S_Black4 жыл бұрын
Yeah you're supposed to establish yourself on the slime asteroid first. Jumping to oil now is getting ahead of things. But there is also the matter that you simply don't need oil for much. Plastic yes, but you could also ranch some Dreckos for that. Doesn't even need to be a huge setup. Just a little for steam turbines. With the small asteroids you're not going to build large tube networks. And even with steam turbines you don't need them for base cooling yet and metal volcano taming is also later. Metal refining is about the only real need, even for that there are other options. If you could later start on a hot asteroid with no cool geysers it would be different. Petroleum rockets aren't implemented yet and he hasn't even done CO2 and sugar rockets yet.

id sugest to make a rocket box thing, like, when you lunch you'r rocket do it inside a box with a lid, then close the lid, camture enoth co2 to refuel the rocket when it comes back, that way you dont actualy ever have to bother with fuling it

How much heat does it generate? If it's going to scald the dupes it will required atmo suits first.

send over the ice water to cool down the map, although its a long way down from 100°C

Was thinking you could run the icy brine in one transported and then back out the other. But like you mentioned the pipe runs were going to be huge. Think I will play the game as intended and go get reed fibre from the third planet.

what I cant figure out is.. to start my rocket my dupe needs a suit because the cockpit of the rocket is actually a vaccum. And we dont have suits yet. excited if youre gonna encounter this problem as well. we need drecko prints.. :D
@FrancisJohnYT4 жыл бұрын
Can you fill the cockpit with O2 somehow? Got to be some way to put stuff in it like oxylite.
@S_Black4 жыл бұрын
@@FrancisJohnYT You can literally build stuff inside the rockets. Oxylite is good. Gas canister can work too for short trips, but gives popped eardrums. Algae is also an option - either powered or with a terrarium that also soaks up CO2.
@EverIost4 жыл бұрын
@@S_Black so we go full circle and build an algae terrarium in a rocket ? :D wow I mean why wouldn't you just add a tank and pump oxygen in there. Or into the cockpit at least. I hope they'll change this..

I wonder if any of these changes are making it into the base game, and if so which ones. I love this DLC, but I still want to be able to build stupidly oversized things on a giant map with no consequences to breathing in polluted oxygen xD
@FrancisJohnYT4 жыл бұрын
I imagine changes to the base game will stop and they will concentrate on the DLC and expansions. I don't think they intend to make changes to the base game barring bug fixes.

Also why do you use filters so much? Powerless filters are so easy. The only downside is if one backs up then it’ll kinda break

Do you think you could teleport some ice to the second planet, and just throw it in the oil biome? That seems safer than to boil the only source of water you have.

I'll hold out for the reed fibre. We could brute force it but want to try it the "normal" way first time.

I’ve noticed that the abyssalite conducts temperature into solid tile is that still the glitch that boils liquids? Or a new bug for the dlc? Cause on there first 2 planets in my game there was no breaks in the abyssalite but it slowly cooking the oil and barren biome at the bottom of my maps
@S_Black4 жыл бұрын
That's always been the case. Because it's conductivity isn't actually 0, but something like 0.000001, and conductivity between adjacent tiles is averaged out. What's worse is that the upper layer is uniformly hot now for some reason. Before you only had a few hot spots that are easily identified. And you also didn't have water in direct contact with hot abyssalite. The smaller map size also causes a lot more complete breaks in the barrier because there is less space for features to spawn so they intersect far more often. That was pretty rare before.
@KevBotnik4 жыл бұрын
@@S_Black I haven’t had a break in the dlc yet but I always had breaks in vanilla, and yea its all 1000’c abyssalite down there no cool layer I guess my next play through I’ll just go down there sooner and cover it insulated tiles
