I’ve been wrecking my brain on why Byron looks familiar…. I figured it out! Glad to see him back on YT. I never knew he could speak Japanese. Love your videos guys! So grateful for the Japanese and English! New subscriber and fan from Colorado! 🥰🤩 Otsukare Fuji-san and Byron-san!
I think you are spot on with a lot of what you said but while Japan DOES still focus a lot on the image of the cute, lovely, timid, kawaii woman for entertainment in general and music especially, there are some that have been doing things differently for a long time already. Even as far back as the 80s. It seems to be a thing mainly in the rock and metal music genres. As you also talked about the popularity of idols in Japan, I want to recommend one video in particular for reaction: Doll$boxx - Take My Chance (official music video) Doll$boxx were a project band that consisted of the musicians of the band Gacharic Spin and the singer from the band Unlucky Morpheus (Fuki). The special thing about this video is that it is an ironic, kind of sarcastic view of Japans underground idol scene and it's very well made in that. Also all of them are really VERY skilled at what they do!
