Thanks I am very interested in this topic also highlighted by Pat Martino and you can go into it further. Also on the other strings and use of third chords on the whole tone scale

Thanks for this video Mike 😁 So many theory texts skip over Augmented Chords and never explain their properties and uses. You have.

Hello Kevin, yes as it turns out two of our most powerful harmonic resources are the Diminished seventh chord and the Augmented chord these chords are truly amazing because of the rich harmonic palette surrounding them. All the very best. Mike

Thank you very much for all the great lessons. The slow pace and the clarity of explanations are outstanding. After the first 20 something lessons of the chord melody series I have serious questions left though ... I am perfectly able to follow and to understand the steps and the context, But somehow I cannot really comprehend how to put things into action. I mean, when people meet for jam sessions, the musicians would play tunes as depicted in the real books. I have learned to assign the major chords to the 6th dim scale, I know that I can play a minor 6 on the dominant - and I can't deal with the rest : ))) I need to learn to assign all chords of a tune to those 6ths - I seem to draw a mental blank on this. Would you mind point to a cue or to lessons that explain this? I hope that my question even makes sense and I thank you for support. Zsolt
