This memorable concert was held in Bombay at the Bharatiya Music and Arts Society in the mid 1970s. I was a young man in my early twenties then. What can we say about Sri T.N. Krishnan and Palghat Sri Mani Iyer? They were my heros and family. Everyone has gone but Krishnan Sar is still going strong to remind us of that golden age. Thank you for uploading Indiandrumbeats. Obviously you were there in this concert watching and listening to two of the greatest performers ever on Carnatic Music.

This Sukhi evvaro Sumukhi evvaro in raga Kanada is so sweet; Sri TNK has done a superb job with it. MDR would be proud of this version. Abhinavanandi with his slow beats not to overwhelm the low pitched violin sounds shows here how he had mastered the mridangam so as to make it sing along. Pranams to all. What an amazing legend Palghat Mani Iyer! The sound of his mridangam is so divine. There was never anyone before or after him who had such mastery of this instrument. I have never heard such beautiful sound of mridangam since his passing away.
