MOMENTUM - Dance Theatre Heidelberg (Trailer)

The three-part evening of contemporary dance, available online on the homepage of the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg the 15th and 20th of March 2021, features pieces by international choreographers.
With her trio »众-III« [zhòng], ensemble member Yi-Wei Lo imaginatively addresses the social expectations placed on the individual. In the choreography, the three young women question the topics of their own identity and the external perspective of others.
The duet »Kick the Bucket« is an early work of the artistic director Iván Pérez and gains new radiance with the experienced dancers of his company.
Another special feature of this evening is that with Astrid Boons, it is the first time that an international guest choreographer has created a world premiere with the company. In her piece »Crash«, the dancers physically as well as psychologically explore the consequences of a overstimulation. They embody in an intense way how people can react to a sensory overload and discover worlds between tension and poetic moments.

This triple bill was rehearsed at the beginning of 2020 with the Dance Theatre Heidelberg. Before the first lockdown in Germany mid-March 2020, the pieces were staged and recorded. Since the pandemic does not allow us to show the works on stage in their original form, we decided to share its recording online and therefore provide visibility for this Pre-Corona production and the artists involved.
