»Oscillation« is the last part of Iván Pérez’s trilogy on the millennial generation. The series looks at those born between 1980 and 2000 using dance, music and visual arts. After »Impression« and »Dimension«, the circle closes with new orchestral music by Ferran Cruixent.
Combining the human principle of curiosity and research, dance and science meet in a creative dialogue for »Oscillation«. During the past months, questions about the behaviour of cells have achieved new depths, thanks to an interdisciplinary collaboration between the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and the artists involved in the production. »Oscillation« is in many ways a reflection and the result of the current changes regarding our living conditions, too. Therefore, the dancers interrogate the necessary interpersonal distance by choreographic means inspired by various cellular oscillation processes. Fascinating interactions are visible in the way they move and communicate with each other on stage. A tension between closeness and separation explores how we can relate to each other despite social distancing and creates new forms of togetherness.
