"Foinikounta or Finikounda is a seaside village and a community in the municipal unit of Pylos, Messenia, Greece. It is situated in the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula, 9 km east of Methoni and 37 km southwest of Kalamata. It is most notable for its beautiful beaches which attract mostly Greek and other European visitors during the summer months."

Σούλα εγώ μαγεύτικα από τη Μεθώνη. Δεν την έχω δει σε άλλες ώρες της ημέρας αλλά στο ηλιοβασίλεμα...ουαου! Το κάστρο δεν το προλάβαμε, έκλεινε στις 20:00. Τι να πρωτοπρολάβω όμως. Πολλές οι ομορφιές και ο χρόνος λιγότερος. Και η Φοινικούντα μου άρεσε πολύ. Αλλά άντε βρες μου ένα μέρος στη Μεσσηνία που να μην είναι όμορφο!

with the idea to visit this area, where do you suggest to stay for couple of nights? Pylos, Methoni or Finikounta? thx

I would definitely choose Pylos. It is a town compared to Finikounda and Methoni which are small villages. So it would be busier and more fun at night. You can use Pylos as your base to explore the whole area. Don't forget to visit Voidokilia beach (check my latest video).
