It's a good idea. But it only makes sense if you can get personal interviews etc. with the cast and crew. Otherwise it will lack credibility, and not work as a documentary.

I agree with you! That would be ideal of course and will try to see if possible, but maybe a video essay is a better term, I may have to switch it up so that I don't false advertise. Thank you!

@@micahnewby7964 I wouldn't say it's false advertising, they intend to create a documentary and that is what they are advertising - if the sources they are using are stated (and official), and if they manage to get any sort of interview with the cast and crew (which would be amazing but an extremely large task and ngl practically impossible) it would be considered a documentary - and in the same vain i wouldn't class it as clickbait - the title and thumbnail don't suggest anything that it's not - also it has been a day since the original comment lmao - i understand your annoyance to it and agree that video essay would probably be a more fitting title, but at the same time don't agree with the accusations you are placing on them

@@maulriliantbee2576honestly I wouldn't have said false advertising either (that was the content creator, which by the way validates the conclusion), but it is accurate as pointed out by op. Also it's literally not a documentary if he doesn't have the input of anyone from Critical Role, say if he's just posting clips and giving his commentary. So unless and until such partnership is declared or evidenced, clickbait is also accurate. Especially keeping in mind that _op_ acknowledged potential for misleading before I ever came along. I stand by everything I said

Webster dictionary defines documentary as “a presentation (such as a film or novel) expressing or dealing with factual events” which is exactly what I plan to do. I will be referring to it as both a docuseries and video essay, since that is what I feel it is, but more often I try to just refer to its title “Beyond the Table.” I hope this is sufficient for everyone, and that makes sense. Thank you again!
