If you go in to the "Advanced" mode when creating a game and look in the bottom right hand corner, it shows what crafting materials drop in the zone you have selected!

Also tip to new players about gilding. You dont have to upgrade all 11 shards to gild it. Just the one you want to gild. I may or may not have done that in my life

Subscribed! I've been a DD1 player for a long long time, and never really got into DD2 as much. Took a break and when I came back I noticed I had a ton of shards and whatnot to sort through and it was really very confusing for me. Your vids has helped clear up that confusion a lot :)

With all your advice I have gone thru and minecrafted my inventory so I could work with it. But knowing about Guilded shards and why it’s the most important thing if you are trying to end game a free 2 play.

One cool piece of info that i did a little while back(before C8 was in expoditions). Getting a certain 10/10 mod (tenacity for example) is about a 1/36000 chance. Juicebags is 100% correct when he says dont get your hopes up lol

basically you can do most content with the 4 base game heroes. But EV2 is absolute crazy for cc. If you buy a new hero buy definitely her! And i would also recommend to buy heroes that can build defences. Dont focuse on gun witch and barbarian. they are super strong in combat, but u cant hold all lanes with just one hero. Focuse on defences!

Yeah but there are stategies where you can spend almost no defences on a really big lane and just hold it yourself so other lanes have a lot more

And about the Ascension system, what should be prioritized first? For example I just unlocked it and I don't know if it's right to improve the Knight character's wall health or prioritize the training dummy or similar things.

I know its way too late but you want to prioritize your build. Example if you have a lot of shards/mods on one thing put ascencion points into making it better

Is there a place to figure out what item is valid for a hero? The sword: "Flying Dragon" has Betsy Blast and says "Invalid for hero" and the effect doesn't proc. I am equipped with it, but it just acts as a normal weapon. I can't find information anywhere in game or outside of game that clarifies how to activate it.

What I love about this game is that they raised the funds through the community, then they delivered the first game with slight improvements and some extra levels, then they removed the extra levels and filled it with microtransations :D This is why Dungeon Defenders 2 has a playerbase of 400 people and the first game gets almost 2k.

Many people love the first game, those numbers you quoted are not close to accurate though. DD1's average online player base usually floats around half or lower of where DD2 is. So not correct info you are giving there. Given DD2 is free to play and DD1 was a retail product still an impressive feat!

Hey juice you always talk about needing a 10/10 chaos 8 defense mod will using a 9/10 make that much difference?

For tenacity it’s pretty much required. C810/10 tenacity gives 100% resistance to cyborks as a 9/10 will not. If you put this on reflect beams you can protect defenses from getting shut off by them. Defense rate 10/10 combined with ascension into defense speed, you hit the defenses’ rate cap freeing up the shard slot for something else.

For the ones I talk about mainly defense rate and tenacity, yes it is required to get to the speed caps or get 100% immunity without a shard.

You skipped important tip for first reset, it is a topic for whole video. But its still worth to mention. First reset never do before c9 complete or you will destroy your acount, i learn this hard way. Im pretty sure Juice have some video about this, watch it before first AP reset

Biggest tip would be don't play the game. The shard grind is absurd. They really need to either increase the odds of the popular shards such as defense rate, destruction and deadly strikes or at least make them tradeable. I'm over 90 c1 shard packs in and not 1 destruction shard.

It's more than that tho. 12k defender medals? Seriously? Each new character Costs 10k that's hours of grinding. Even more so inventory and vault room space is a necessity buy? To even play long term? When Dd1 is better than this game Even games like focking Runescape and old runescape wasn't entirely Pay to win. It was indeed pay to reach exclusive areas and benefits but you can still play the game just fine.

I'm not a fan of these tips. As a new player, I don't even know what shards are or what they do. I would much rather you explain to me how to place turrets and what the zone in front means, how to adjust aura size, how to communicate in party with the pings, how to chain basic skills (like the glue and fire for the archer class), how to auto equip the best gear, if you should upgrade every gear you wear, etc. I believe you have played for too long and forgot the real basics !

All of the other Dungeon Defenders games are normal retail products, as well as Orcs Must Die. The big 3 would be the DD series, OMD series plus Sanctum 1&2. Sanctum games are a little dated now but very much worth playing through.

I can safely say being an avid fan of DD 1 then giving DD 2 a try with my buddy I am severely disappointed in this game everything about it just...…sucks performance terrible, loot system terrible, character customization/ability non existent without paying money, character specing isn't even a thing till your character is max level, the grind in DD 1 was fun and its not even nostalgia I first played DD 1 a year prior to DD2 and the game just feels shallow and soulless literally just a cash grab at this point no wonder the game didn't get any traction they basically took everything good about DD 1 mixed in microtransactions and a bunch of unnecessary grinding and just spoiled the whole thing its sad really, I guess ill just play DD 1 modded as its inherently more fun to play
